Absolutely the cleanest and most organized tap room I have ever encountered in my life. The service was friendly and efficient, the beer selection was extraordinary and the music playlist was laid back with the volume at a perfect non ear-bleed level. You can actually have a conversation with someone here without having to scream over Rebecca Black's "Friday" because the volume is cranked up to 11. Here you can chill with your whomever while enjoying a beer you've never even heard of while listening to Van Morrison's "Into the Mystic" at a perfect conversation volume level of 6. And after you're done with your beer adventure you can even buy some beers to take home. Or fill a growler to take home. Maybe even buy a t-shirt because you've had a few beers and are in that happy place where you just buy a t-shirt of a bar you love because you had a good time, and you want to wear that shirt and have people ask you about it so you tell them "Go there, you'll love it!"
And for the people whining that there isn't a full menu...this is a tap room, not a Chili's. This isn't the place to meet your friend Brad and shovel a Triple Dipper© in your gullet while the two of you talk about your loveless marriages and how your stepson hates you. This is the one, the only, Taps Off Main. If you live in or around Columbia and you haven't been here yet then you now know why there is an ache in your heart. A hole left...
Read moreI love this place. I've now been several times. Whether you meet a friend, come with a group or just want a nice, cold brew while you're out on the square, this is the place you'll want to go! During special events, they're packed to the gills, but their staff are bustling and will get to you quick. Thomas, behind the bar, really knows his beers and will advise you of your picks that he's sure to keep in his fridge at home. They don't serve food, but will allow you to bring in a pizza to-go to enjoy with your favorite beverage. Today, I was out on the square, taking care of some business and decided to take a walk and visit some of my favorite shops. At the last minute, I decided to pop-in for a brewski. It was the middle of the day, so just a handful of people were seated at the bar. I ordered the Wanderlinger Wheat Caroline, made in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It's great when I can enjoy a beer that's brewed right here, in the beautiful state of Tennessee. Supporting small, local businesses and breweries is my jam. Before leaving, I gazed at their vast display of specialty beers and picked out a couple to take home with me. Both, were quite deliciously great picks!
Be sure to check 'em out while you're out on the square! You'll be...
Read moreNice rotating beer collection with a solid variety when it comes to price. I also appreciate that prices are listed for pints up to growers. Pretty convenient. The inclusion of board games and to go drinks are also welcome additions. My complaints rest in two areas, the chairs and lack of food. The chairs inside don't have backs which is certainly not convenient if you do happen to play some board games with the people you came with. While there are places to get food around the square, I would always prefer to drink while eating a salty snack. Even if it was just popcorn or some pretzel I would appreciate it if some sort of food or snack was available for...
