I visited Muletown today for the first time in a few months and had a great experience. The staff was over the top friendly and helpful. The new lunch options are limited but creative (and good!). I like how their menu options go beyond just bagels and cream cheese or sugary pastries. Lunch is served from 11-3 so be aware of the time before you come here and order a sandwhich with your coffee. They have bagels, pastries, and hasbrown options available during all hours so you’ll always have some food options even if you don’t come for lunch.

I had both a seasonal drink and a coffee and both were good. Milk steaming could have been a little better but overall a great cup of coffee. The espresso tonic was super refreshing. Shout out to barista Jason A for being so kind!

Additionally, Muletown has a new space and it is much more conducive to working and socializing than their last space. I miss the charm of the old Muletown but this is a great area for getting stuff done. I worked from the shop all day today and not once did someone have to leave due to lack of space. Having lived in Columbia for 14 years and even with the addition of more coffee shops, MCR is still the best. I live about 0.7 miles away so I frequent this establishment at least twice a week.

I've had everything on the menu. My favorite is either French press dark roast or a latte with caramel. Its not overly sweet like some other coffee shops.

Now as far as food goes, when they have them, the asiago cheese bagel and chocolate chip cookies are just out of this world delicious 🤤😋. The baristas are very welcoming and masters at their craft. The ambiance is modern & relaxed, although it's usually very busy.

My family is moving soon 😞 so I can pursue my passion of travel nursing. Rest assured, I will miss MCR but at least I know I can buy their beans in bulk.
