Don’t judge a book by it’s cover rings true here. While this place looked to be very promising from the outside, my party of 5 left very disappointed.
To begin the inside and outside of the restaurant looks great. You would expect a great dining experience with fresh and quality ingredients, especially when you look at the price points. However, Then you run into the plastic cups and you’re confused, asking yourself if you’re eating at a rundown diner with fish served in a basket, and then when you’re done eating it’s too late that you realize you’re overpaying for Applebee’s quality food.
The prices were a little ridiculous for the quality of food you receive. If we’re going to pay $20-25+ per plate, is it too hard to ask for some quality napkins that aren’t abrasive like paper, maybe cloth? Plastic cups? And fried fish served in a basket? How cheap are you? You’re already making enough profit charging someone $15 for a salad or $19 for a single chicken breast. How about fresh house baked bread? Instead of frozen rolls? Maybe even fresh spinach salad instead of heated up lukewarm spinach dip?
Additionally, we all agreed the spinach dip was probably the worst we’ve ever eaten, in fact we didn’t even finish it.
On top of that, upon being seated I asked for a loaf of bread. The waitress came back, 10 mins later, telling us they were out of bread but had rolls. I said that’s fine, we’ll take rolls. She left, and came back out about 10-15 mins later. She apologized again and said “sorry we don’t have anymore rolls, we just gave them all to the table behind you. We have other appetizers on the menu.” The table seated behind us came in after we did. Why or how did you possibly serve them Bread before us when we were there before them. In fact they still had people arriving to sit at the table joining them, when the waitress was telling us this. So we decided to move on, get something else, and order our food. So 30ish mins go by and towards the end of our meal, we noticed that several new tables that had just been seated, were munching on rolls. How could this be if they didn’t have any rolls? So, we decided to ask the waitress and guess what, somehow “oh yeah the kitchen found some more rolls in the back.” How do you just find rolls? Do they have a magician performing magic back there pulling rolls out of a hat? How can you not just make more rolls instead you have to find more? And why didn’t she tell us? I just find that to be so odd. Either she lied beforehand, or they buy their rolls frozen and bake them. Either way, not worth $7 for their “loaf of bread” we were going to be charged.
Overall, the meal was very flavorless, and we all left still hungry and disappointed. Completely overpriced and a “steakhouse” looked more like a Golden Corral minus the buffet. As locals, We will not be returning and will urge others to avoid at all...
Read moreFirst off I have been to this restaurant numerous times, not one of my favorite go to places, but mostly its been ok when we dine there. But Sunday 5/22/21 after church we went there to have lunch. It will be my last time there. We had a party of 6. They told us that they would sit us when they get the table cleaned off. Another party of 3 or 4 came in, the hostess went and cleaned their table off and set them, then a party of 2 came in and hostess done the same with them cleaned their table and seated them, while we still sitting and waiting. We question her about it. Why couldn't they went and cleaned our table off. She said they waiting for the table to be cleaned off. We exchange words with her about it, and that wasn't fair to us. But went in a few minutes they did sit us. Our waiter was a very nice young man got our drinks and then took our order all was good, then this young lady who said she was the manager or acting manager came to our table and ask what the problem was and we preceded to tell our displeasure with the wait and sitting others after us first, we didn't get hateful, we didn't cuss her, we just explain our displeasure. She preceded to to tell us one of the hostess said we put our hands on her and that was a no no, which we didn't. Then she proceeded to tell us if we wanted to leave she would cancel our order as I took it she was asking us to leave, so we got up and left. This young lady was very rude, no apologies or nothing. We were seated we were pleased, the waiter was nice got our drinks and order in a timely fashion and then here she comes. Why did she wait till the drinks and order was taken if there was a problem with us? She handled it very unprofessional. Her or the owners might not care that 8 people got up and walk out, or basically told to leave, but if this young lady is the manager and she stays very long she will encounter other situations like ours, and if she handles them the way she handle ours, in time she will affect business. Maybe not today,or next week, or next month, but one day the owners will wake up wondering why business is slowly going down. I will not spend my money there again nor will I recommend them to anyone. One bad apple can do a lot of damage to...
Read moreFirst off the atmosphere or decor was nice with the rustic feel. My steak was cooked perfectly and really good too, but other than then two things, the restaurant total experience was poor.
First off our server Shelby. She came and took our drink order and asked if anyone else was coming and we told her no, but she didn’t return to take our food order until about 20 minutes later. This was unacceptable. I could see her in the back with a few of the other servers just laughing and talking and seem to forget or didn’t care she had a table. When she finally came out, she said, I thought you had more people coming, which we all knew was a lie because we told there was no one else coming.
When the food came out, my fries were just not hot but darn near cold as well as someone else’s in our party and everyone who got wings they were dried out. My wife’s sweet potato fries were extremely dark, pointing to old grease they were probably fried in and the Cesar salad was watery. My asparagus was undercooked and so they were chewy/stringy and barely a serving for the amount and size of them.
They should have never brought poor food mentioned above. It only shows you that the kitchen manager if there is one, doesn’t care about the quality of food coming out the kitchen and neither does the restaurant owner/manager because one bad food review or a few about the same thing(s) should alert the management to fix the problems and clearly they have not. Plus they charge you 20 percent gratuity fee for parties over 6, why restaurants do this, I don’t know but restaurants should be paying they’re servers minimum federal/state wage like any other job instead of the servers relying on tips to make a decent amount of money.
We will never return because the food is subpar comparatively to the time, money and detail they put into the decor. Decor and atmosphere is not what makes customers come back, it’s the food and customer service.
The place is a 2 star only because they cooked the steak perfectly and the bathrooms were ok but the mens bathroom had an out of order urinal, smh.
Stay away from this place until they start putting customers first with serving good quality food and hiring and training staff to be...
