I came in at around 12AM and made it clear that I was there to get a couple drinks and make my way out. The bartender Maddy repeatedly questioned me on where I was living, asked me personal questions, and really came off as interrogative. I gave polite responses to prevent any tension from arising and quitely scrolled through Instagram on my phone whenever she walked away (I'm more on the antisocial side). Despite all of this, I still tipped $10.00 on a $4.00 order (the drinks were great quality) and was polite throughout the entire encounter. Once she took the receipt, she proceeded to call me "shady" and refused to believe that I was being truthful with my responses. I politely asked what I did wrong and her response was "you were perfectly fine and did nothing wrong, you just seem shady." I wanted to get another drink, but she told me it was last call and that they were closing early tonight at 1AM. Despite not knowing what I did wrong, I apologized for making her feel that way and promptly left the bar to avoid any issues. While walking my dog (I live in the new apartments that are in the same plaza), noticed that none of the cars were gone by 1:15AM and that I had been lied to. I really didn't like that she made me feel that way when all I wanted to do was order a couple drinks and leave. I never flirted with her, never started a conversation, never talked to any of the other patrons, sat on the opposite end of the bar, and minded my own business the entire time. I want to come back again because it's 500 feet from where I live, but I don't feel like I'm welcome there anymore. I've been there a couple times during the day and ordered food that I really enjoyed, but never at night until today. I usually don't leave reviews, but I felt so singled out and offended that I had to...
Read more"Average" Joe's (Long review tldnr at bottom) The Name sums it up. Nothing special here but the pricing to get you in the door. Read both good and bad to make your own opinion. The good $2 domestic draft beers before 7 as well as various other drink specials throughout the week. And $2.50 modelo draft all day every day. 25 Cent "jumbo"wings on sundays and mondays max of 20 This means 20 wings and 2 beers before 7 is only $9 before a tip! The Bad The "Jumbo" wings are the smallest I've ever seen(used a tator tot in photo for reference...they also have a "skinny wing"..), almost no meat and just a hair from being called dry. The flavor was not bad but lacking. Both the hot garlic and garlic parm would be considered average at best. Even with 12 wings and an appetizer I was not full. My experience. I'm mixed on my overall experience. the food was misleading and lacking. But the wings and beer are cheap and just wanting a quick drink and food with your buddy without breaking the bank You can't beat it. Just don't expect to want to tell all your friends. Issues Me and my friend arrived before happy hour eneded and ordered 2 beers each to make sure we got happy hour price as well as ordered 20 wings. They only made us 12 wings each and by the time we realized, it was already late to be asking for 8 more. Come to the check we both got charge for 4 beers and only my check had the proper pricing. (This was easily resolved with the waitress) Tldnr: Cheapest place for beer and a quick bite on mondays before 7pm. Sad and small wings at 25 cents each $2 drafts....
Read moreWhat Average Joe's lacks (employees), it makes up for in their good and friendly service, great bar food and drinks, and very fair prices.
They currently lack employees (what restaurant isn't). The bartender has to do her job to tend the bar, and be a server to the whole place. We came up to the bartender to ask for menus, and we sat outside and looked it over, then had to go back inside to order. It was a bit inconvenient, but you gotta do what you gotta do when restaurants are short staffed. The bartender was really friendly and attentive, and she did a great job juggling both responsibilities. When she wasn't busy slinging drinks, she would check up on guests on the patio and get us refills.
The menu consisted of what you would consider typical bar food. We started off with half an order of Joe's Garbage Can, which as you can see in my pictures is huge! It had a ton of chicken and tater tots covered in every topping I could think of. The half portion was really filling, especially for 2 people. The Southwest Salad looked delicious (I didn't get to try, I know, how rude), and my Buffalo Chicken Wrap was amazing as well. We couldn't finish our meals after consuming a garbage-can-amount of food for appetizer, so we boxed them up.
We also ordered 2 drinks each, and my bill ended up being only $50. Everything was under $10, so it was really affordable and...
