My wallet is so happy but my liver is crying. Thanks, Eupouria. Not to be dramatic but I think I just found my new favorite place on earth, and it's that Eupouria bar in the Gateway.
I finally went with a couple of friends and the concept is so simple it's genius. You get a card, and then you have full access to a GIANT WALL of self-serve taps. I'm talking like 40 options.
This place is DANGEROUS for someone as indecisive as me. I wanted to try everything. And I kinda did?? I poured myself like 2oz of a watermelon cider, then 3oz of a coffee stout, then a splash of some random IPA my buddy recommended. You only pay for what you pour, down to the ounce. It’s perfect.
For the first time ever, I didn't have to commit to a whole $8 pint of something I wasn't sure I'd like. I just made my own little flight of everything.
And because you're your own bartender, my bill at the end of the night was ridiculously cheap. I was mentally preparing for the usual damage and was shocked when I closed my tab. I feel like I've discovered a cheat code for going out on campus.
If you haven’t been, you have to go. Just... maybe set a limit for yourself, cause the temptation to try...
Read moreThe bar itself seemed super fun, with games and DJ and I liked the whole concept, but the male bartender who worked last night, Thursday 11/16, may be the reason that anyone there last night will never come back. At 12:50-12:55pm, out of no where he starts literally screaming that we need to get out RIGHT NOW. There were only about 10 people in the bar and everyone was just quickly finishing up their drinks to head out by 1. He starts yelling that if we chug our beers or finish them quickly, that we had already paid for, he will call the cops. It was so aggressive and completely out of the blue. Since the bar opened recently, everyone there just didn't know it closed right at 1am and wanted to finish our drinks before leaving. I understand wanting to close on time, but he genuinely made it a horrible experience, and everyone was complaining that they are never coming back after what happened. The female bartender there on the other hand was super nice and helpful. I've never seen a bar tender react that way in any bar, ever, without anyone doing a single...
Read moreThe male bartender that was working Thursday 5/2 was incredibly rude to my group of friends. He said “well this IS a bar” when my friend asked what non-alcoholic options were available, leaving us both dumbfounded as to how that was his immediate response. Did he provide a non-alcoholic drink? Yes, but he was rude for no reason so it left a bad taste. He turned off the music that my friends played on touch tunes (with no reason given, to my knowledge) and audibly complained about the way that people had normal questions about how to work the beer pouring stations, and about how people ordered...
