Golden Thai — Restaurant in Columbus

Took my brother to this unassuming looking place for the first time. The food was delicious and very authentic. We had the traditional beef salad with lettuce and cucumbers and it made me feel like I was in Thailand. We also had the Thai Basil Duck which was equally good. The server was very friendly and she went out of her way to accommodate my brother who was in a wheelchair and required some extra room for his chair. *Note: returned almost two years later and the food was just as excellent if not better than before. Read the reviews and decided it was time to try the Golden Bowl. I am not sure what went wrong with our order, but it was nothing to be proud of. The Chicken Satay was dry, the calamari was ok, but 6 small pieces for $10 was too much for the quality. We ordered the Pad Thai Chicken and the chicken was so dry we could not stick a fork in it, also the same for Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice. Spent over $60.00 which would not have bothered us if the food had not been so bad. We did do take out, but we have done so with many other restaurants and the food was great. Bottom line up front: excellent food, fast service, reasonably priced food.

I had a look at Rhonda's unpleasant comment before writing this to see if I'd experience the same thing.

Food: Had the steamed Thai dumplings, beef pad thai, and beef Thai fried rice. Dumplings were juicy, and beef fried rice was tasty and on par with other compatible Thai restaurants. The pad thai noodles were on point, no critiques there.

Service: Fast. Appetizer came out in about 5min, and the main course came out by the time we finished the dumplings. Fast and friendly.

Overall: if you're after quick, decent Thai food at a good price then this is the place to go. Keep in mind they're closed...
