Gyro Express — Restaurant in Columbus

Most underrated gyro in town and best baklava.

Gyro Express is in my opinion in a deadlock tie for best gyro in town (with The Mad Greek on Broad Street). The gyros aren't the same at these two places but they're both excellent on their own merits.

But Gyro Express seems more like a dirty, greasy, unremarkable place to eat from the inside and out, which is why I say it's the most under rated.

Folks, this place is no joke. Gyros are great, fries are great, mushrooms are ok, but when I get it in my mind to get a gyro and I'm stuck in this deadlock tie about which side of town I'm driving to I make this decision centered around desserts. If the preferred dessert is cake I go to The Mad Greek, but if I want baklava then it's Gyro Express all day. They have two sized of baklava in traditional walnut and honey form then several other lessor versions and some other pies and cakes. None of the pies and cakes at Gyro Express have been noteworthy in my experience, but the baklava is at the best in Columbus I think.

It's a decent drive for me so I usually stock up. Two super gyros, a bunch of fries, (mediocre) fried mushrooms, and half a dozen large baklavas that I plan to last for several days but never make it until morning.

10/10, will go...

Well. After trying this through door dash for the first time, I gotta say, don't. Order Apollos instead..apollos has poor customer service but the food is amazing. This place had lousy food and customer service. It's partially on me for not fully reading the menu. Who tf serves a Greek salad with tzatziki sauce? Apparently this place does. Which was in the description. So that's on me. What WASN'T in the description was the salad full of ICEBERG lettuce. The photo shows romaine and spring mix. Nope. None of that. Just iceberg. Iceberg and tzatziki. Gross. Definitely wouldn't have ordered the salad had I known. The gyro itself was average. The tzatziki doesn't have any dill in it and it was a strange color and flavor. But it was decent. The falafel balls were slightly burnt. When I called to inquire about dressing for the salad, whomever answered the phone was kind of rude and didn't provide any information that was intelligible. I figured out about the dressing by going back to the menu after I couldn't get an from said employee. All in all, I wouldn't do it again considering what I paid for the meal.. could have had something much better for 4 dollars less. But, trying something new is...

Location I have a bad experience the people that they got working there are young and disrespectful and has a nasty attitude I want time I had told the owner that he needs to stop hiring these young people with disrespectful attitudes one time when I was there picking up my order the lady had told me that place is closed then the owner told her don't be telling people that and I came back and the owner had told her don't be telling people that but it's the point is the owner needs to put control inside that location because if you have people talking to his customers like that or acting like that towards the customers what makes you think a customer want to come back to a location where people are being disrespectful and they young and they don't have no manners that is crazy I hope this manager sees this mess this message and he deals with the situation if you have the same problem at this location please tell the supervisor or the owner I would like to give them some...
