African Paradise Restaurant — Restaurant in Columbus

I have had a good experience at african paradise before however today service started good food was pretty good but upon me and my wife leaving the restaurant whoever the guy with the brown shirt who took our card to cash us out waited until i the husband walked outside and then told my wife who was waiting for our bank card the guy had, he told her hurry up and give him her number and told her she was beautiful which giving a compliment isnt a problem but going behind a husbands back when you clearly seen she was with a man is DISRESPECTFUL and unprofessional for someone to do who works there. I changed my life and became a better person or i would have came back in the restaurant and we would have had a conversation- whoever owns this restaurant needs to teach their employees morals and respect before someone gets angry all because of a horney employee you have working there. I am muslim but not somali i am Native American indian - my religion im seeing a bad habit of disrespectful men who claim to be of islam and muslim - certainly seen enough this past year to question who actually practices the religion because i was taught respect and morals at a young age and what happened today was a terrible way to show that as an employee working there. I went to this restaurant with four gentlemen today July 7, 2023. It was a horrible experience. Very poor or No 👎 customer service. We ordered meal for each one of us. We had to demand appetizers like soup and mango drink. We waited for 20 minutes. When our order came, it was only for three of us, the waiter stated that the fourth order is no longer available that it needed prior phone call ahead. When we told him about our contact at Paradise restaurant that took our order, the waiter called another man in the kitchen (the chef) was very rude. Demanded a proof from us as to who we called or took our order. When we told him who it was that took our order, the chef 👩‍🍳 denied that individual of working for them. The chef asked for proof of prior order call. Not only did we show the phone call but we showed the employee's photo. The chef then confirmed the photo identity of the employee but claimed that he didn't know him by the name we gave him. Unfortunately, the chef was unwelcoming, unapologetic, and refused to own his and their mistake. Apparently, the waiters and the Chef is partiflcular were hostile and provocative. We left upset and unsatisfied!!! We will not go back ever again to African...

I didn't really understand the menu and the English of the dude working here was not stellar, so I asked him to just make me something spicy that I'll like. He laughed then brought me a lime soup and a banana... A bit strange.

Then he brought out a lamb dish on a bed of spinach mixture. The flavors were fantastic, every bite was packed with flavor. It was savory, a hint of sweet, pretty spicy, fairly sour, and highlighted with cilantro and onion. The spinach had strips of orange peppers and what must have been sweet potato or yam. The lamb was untrimmed and cooked right on the bone which I like. My only gripe is that while some pieces of lamb were absolutely perfect, others were kind of tough and dry.
