I had a taste for jerk chicken so I drove over to Morse Rd. to find an international market so I could buy some authentic Jamaican jerk spice. That's when I noticed the Caribbean Crave food truck. My common sense kicked in and I figured, let's just let an expert make dinner tonight. I ordered 4 beef patties and 2 jerk chicken dinners with cabbage, plantains, mac and cheese, and rice and peas as sides. I've been to Jamaica many times and I have a number of favourite jerk restaurants on the island. The patties were obviously made from scratch. The crust was perfect. The seasoning of the beef filling was spot on. The jerk chicken was cooked perfectly and the flavor was lights out. Read moreI got the brown stew chicken, Mac and cheese, potato salad, and oxtails, rice beans, and fried plantains. My brown stew chicken was so savory and flavorful, I loved it it wasn’t as spicy as I’d like, but I cleaned the bone, the ox tail was very tender, but not much flavor or spice like I was gunning for, but still juicy and tender. The beans and rice was delicious and fluffy, the fried plantain was very sweet and good, but could have been fried a little longer. The potato salad was very good had a great smoked flavor, the Mac and cheese was tasty as well. I would definitely order again when I’m in...
Read moreI've never been so happy to forget my lunch at home. This was out of this world delicious. I got the jerk chicken ("spicy" heat level) with rice and beans and steamed cabbage. I also got a side of potato salad. I ate every bite (don't judge me - try it and you'll see why!) The chicken fell off the bones, was deliciously seasoned, and paired perfectly with the sides. The portions are pretty good sized. I'm so glad I got the potato salad too. It was made with real, "chunks" of potatoes and you could tell it was homemade. I will definitely be adding this to my list of regular eats! Kudos to...
