I've been going to Handel's since I was a kid growing up where Handel's originated in Youngstown, OH. And the service has always been exceptional serving excellent good tasting homemade ice cream. And the one thing that stands out for this particular location is that the Handel's I grew up around, always maintained a decent parking lot that was kept paved and without any POTHOLES like this one. This is unacceptable especially to the amount of paying customers you serve. The management should be ashamed and get this parking lot taken care of ASAP! And unfortunately, this is why I had no choice but to give a 4- Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating.
Well folks, I made another trip to this establishment on June 11, 2024 and as I expected; NOTHING has been done about these pot holes which I have evidence.. I guess it doesn't matter to the franchise owners. And one would think for the amount of loyal customers that patronize this place, out of respect to us customers something should have been done by now! These are just a few of the potholes, oh yes there are definitely more! 😲😳
OMG! 😳😯😲😁 Guess what folks? The reason why Handel's is not open today is September the 16th, 2024 (by the way, this will go down in history 😂) I was leaving Shake & Steak restaurant and in order to get back to heading towards Meijers you pass Handel's and low & behold I literally could not believe what my eyes 👀 were witnessing taking place! 😳 The Handel's parking lot was being resurfaced with brand new black tar and absolutely 🧐 NO POT HOLES in sight! Yeah! 🙌🏽😃😆 I guess someone got my message! Kudos to whomever got the ball rolling and made it happen!...
Read moreHandles ice cream was one of my very favorite places to visit when my now husband lived in Indianapolis. So when we ended up in Columbus for a special event a few weeks ago and I realized there was one here, we just had to go! It was about 830 on a Thursday evening in July and there was a short line. With multiple windows open, it probably took about almost 10 minutes before it was our turn to order.
Hubby and I both opted for the four scoops sampler, because why wouldn’t we? LOL! I went with Graham central station, chocolate peanut butter brownie, spouse like a house and some salted caramel something. Graham central station is my absolute favorite and one of the flavors I always get. Chocolate peanut butter brownie is one I revisit quite often as well. Spouse like a house was one I’d forgotten. My husband remembered that it was the flavor my sister suggested when she recommended Campbell’s way back in the day. And the caramel one was the suggestion of the person taking our order. I was very pleased with everything! Their ice cream is so creamy and extra flavorful! I really wish we have one in Dayton...
Read moreOMG; I LOVED (past tense) THIS PLACE. The ice cream is one of the best that I've had; the selection is excellent and the prices are reasonable. However, customer service sucks. When I arrived at the shop, one night, I didn't realize that they were closed. Who would when the lot was full of cars with people enjoying their ice cream. I would have appreciated it if the worker would have simply come to the window and state that they were closed; that I could respect. However, the worker saw me standing at the window and then proceeded to turn her back. She then began talking and motioned to another worker that I was at the window; this person also ignored me. At that point, I left. I completely understand and agree that I shouldn't have been served, since you were closed; however, I don't appreciate being totally and intentionally disregarded. I had been a loyal customer for years. I don't usually play the race card but I now wonder... Was that the issue? If I had been Caucasian, would courtesy have been extended to simply let me know the...
