The food here is absolutely delicious! We were looking for something late at night, and on a weekday, most places were closed or with late night fried food. So we found this food truck, and we ordered two rice bowls, and we absolutely loved it. Without even tasting it, just smelling the food, we knew it was going to be good, so we brought it home, and we weren't disappointed. The tandoori chicken was well-seasoned, and the portion size was generous. The rice smelled so good, and they gave us a lot of chicken and rice! The way they grill it brings out the taste.
As for the meat, it was also flavorful. The flavors are authentic. We also ordered 4 samosas, and they were perfectly cooked, and the sauces were tasty: the flavors go really well together. Another great thing about this food truck is that the food is 100 percent halal which means that the animal was treated in a humane manner and even blessed.
The only confusing part is that they have an Indian menu mixed with a Mexican menu, but I just accepted it and went with it. I mean I'm Latin American, so I know what a taco should taste like. I didn't try the tacos here. I was more interested in the Indian part of the menu. But I'm sure all the food is great here because you can tell they care about making tasty food.
I'm writing this review because I appreciate how great the food is, the generous portion sizes, and how late they are open. Unfortunately, you can't find any food past 11 p.m. on a weekday in Columbus unless it's just burgers and fried food, so that's why we went to this food truck.
The rice and Tandoori chicken is healthy for dinner, and it was a great way to save money, eat healthy food (if you don't get the fried food part of the menu), and a great way to support a small local business.
I think there should be more late-night food trucks because we don't want to be cooking every night, but we also don't want to always eat at a restaurant. Food trucks can offer better prices because their overhead is lower.
Unfortunately, landlords and property management companies are charging High Street restaurants high rent, and many small shops are having to close. I've already seen 4 shops close in 3 months. A ramen restaurant we loved on High Street just recently closed: Ampersand Asian Supper Club.
Only corporations or big businesses with wealthy business owners will be able to survive the rent on High Street which means we'll lose the diversity and character of High Street. Landlords / Landladies shouldn’t be charging such high rent on High Street, and customers should be able to have affordable dinner options.
We love eating at restaurants on High Street in Columbus, but as we eat out often, we like to vary it with food trucks as an affordable option for picking up food and taking it back home.
We'll continue to support our favorite food trucks and High Street restaurants as Columbus has really great restaurants and...
Read moreI tried for the first time and honestly, I was blown away. I ordered their burrito, and it instantly reminded me of a proper shawarma. For a long time I’ve been searching in the U.S. for a place that makes real shawarma in lavash – just good meat, fresh veggies, and nothing unnecessary. It’s almost impossible to find it here the way it should be.
But here, they made it absolutely perfect – the flavor was rich, balanced, and genuinely delicious. The portion was generous, the meat was tender and well-seasoned, and the veggies were fresh and crisp. On top of that, the price was very affordable, which makes it even better.
I can honestly say this was one of the best shawarma-style burritos I’ve ever had in the U.S. Highly, highly recommend this place – if you’ve been searching for that authentic taste, you’ll find it here. Extremely tasty, satisfying, and worth...
Read moreSo Harrison’s Food Truck Halal is located on the corner of W 3rd Ave. & Harrison Ave. Columbus, OH 43201 Down in Victorian Village. In front of Ziggy’s Drive Threw / Carry Out.
I don’t care what you order from Harrison’s Food Truck Halal, two things are for certain. Number one you’re gonna get a lot of food and number two. it’s good be damn good!
The ladies are thee best at cooking up amazing food. Harrison’s like a Mexican Fusion with a little East Indian flair here and there or at least that’s my take.
I ordered a Harrison’s Special Platter W/ Salad which is enough for two. Their Double Cheese Burger as absolutely insane on how big it is and their fries slap! Loved the California Burrito. Their Horchata is super dank and the Mango Lassi is a real Mango Lassi made with yogurt, not some artificial...
