I was visiting Columbus and wanted a casual place to get some Southern food, and Moe’s had what I was looking for. The place has an industrial look with a good amount of seating and a small arcade area. There’s a dog-friendly patio, convenient for the dog park nearby. It’s self-service where you order at the counter and get a buzzer to pick up your food when it’s ready, and there’s also a bar to get alcoholic drinks. The girl who took my order was so sweet! I changed my mind one of my side twice AFTER I had already placed my order, and she was so chill about making a note on the order ticket to change it, and when I apologized for being difficult, told me she just wanted me to get what I wanted. She left while I was still eating, and on her way out checked on me to see if I was happy with my final choice (I was). I got the Fried Shrimp Platter. The shrimp weren’t big but there were a lot! They weren’t greasy and the peppery batter was tasty! I had coleslaw and collard greens for my sides. I’d recommend not getting the coleslaw with the shrimp since it already includes a small serving of coleslaw and pickles, but I really liked the slaw so I didn’t mind getting to eat a whole serving of it. The collards were also really good - they had a smoky and subtly sweet flavour. They were cooked with sausage and bacon which I wasn’t expecting (but definitely contributed a lot to the taste) and had actually been trying to avoid, but I’d assume for most people at a barbeque joint, meat is not an issue, and I realize now that it’s common to cook collards with meat, I just didn’t know any better because you cannot get this stuff where I live. I just moved on and enjoyed them anyway. The cornbread was the moist style that I like, and the slight char was really nice. After all that I realized I could go for a dessert, so I went back up and ordered a small banana pudding, which totally wowed me. It was so creamy, not cloyingly sweet, and the wafer crumbs gave it such a nice texture. I ordered it because I was curious and am now a banana pudding fan. To be perfectly clear, I do not eat meat besides seafood, and I haven’t had much exposure to real Southern food, so the target audience here of meat-loving Southerners can take my impressions of this place with a grain of salt, but I had to leave a review anyway to share my...
Read moreLocated in the same building as the Scofflaw taproom in Columbus so we walked over after having a flight at Scofflaw to get some food in our stomachs. Typical "corporate" style place in a remodeled old building, lots of metal and glass. Counter service, though it does have a short bar with a few bar stools. Also typical Georgia style BBQ menu, no brisket or sausage as you'd find in Texas BBQ joints, but they also have turkey along with wings. No sampler plates, but you can add on a meat (or order ala carte) for $5 so we got a pork combination plate, which includes two sides, and added ribs and wings. We asked for sauce on the side for the pork, but it came with some on top and enough the meat NOT covered so you could taste just the meat. It was fairly average shredded pork without much smokiness, though my wife liked it (she's not a big fan of the smokie flavor) which is why I ordered it. The ribs were okay, not TOO tender but enough "fall off the bone" to satisfy most folks who don't like a "bite through" rib. But you could tell it had been a while since they had come off the cooker. The wings were the best thing I had - hot and fresh, roasted, no sauce - I'd go back just for the wings. For sides we got the stew and BBQ beans. The stew was pretty good, it had corn in it, which I am a fan of, and a little bit of lima beans, which I'm not a fan of. Again, wife liked the stew a lot. The BBQ beans were like those out of can and lukewarm at best. All in all, like a dozen other chain BBQ joints you can find in...

Was Looking for family meal for Christmas Eve. Got pulled chicken, hot wings, banana pudding, stew and cucumber salad! The pulled chicken was more like rotisserie chicken style. It was ok. The hot wings were a lb estimated to 8 wings. Very meaty and tasty. The cucumber salad was very good. My favorite from the meal. The banana pudding didn’t have any bananas unless it was puree to make the pudding. The stew was delicious except don’t like cheese! Spent $50. The double wide traitor family meal with chicken would feed ideally 2-3 grown people. They offer 1/2 pints, pints and 1/2 trays on their sides. The pint would feed 2-3 people if they are not stingy! I do feel it was a bit high to spend on 2 people.
Update: On Dec 29 I called in for pickup for double wide turkey meal.
I was charged for 1 lb turkey , pints of banana pudding and cucumber salad! When I open the container it did not look like 1 lb. I put it on my food scale and it was 11 oz, my pint cucumber salad was 10oz the 1/2 pint pudding was 4oz. I called the manager when I got home and he said come back and get the rest! Hell no You should give me a lb for...
