Monterrey Tex Mex — Restaurant in Columbus

This place has been open for a while, but the façade is unnoticeable, and it doesn't look like it would be good. However, on an off night me and my family decided to give it a go. It is unlike any "Mexican" or texmex place in town. It really is amazing. While some places seem to have good tacos, burritos, etc., this place has extrodinary fajitas and all kinds of different dishes. The dining room is small, just barely big enough for our party of eight to fit in, but the food vastly makes up for the unconfortable dining room. As I mentioned, the fajitas are extrodinary, and recently when going there I have been getting a place with chicken and garlic and some vegetables. (I think the waiter called it the "Georgia special", but on the receipt it was rung up as "Camarones de ajo"-- garlic shrimp--with chicken instead of shrimp. I highly recommend this dish). Well to start off, I Wanted to give this place a chance, so Ordered steak and chicken fajitas came with a side of rice and beans, and of course, the guacamole and sour cream salad also came with pico de gallo so I ordered my food from here thru uber eats first of all, and it took a while to get picked up, so that’s why when it arrived the food was cold!. ok, ill give them that much, but not very tasty and left a nasty after taste in my mouth & I love Mexican food and ive had better honestly from a few other places in Columbus ga this was a complete waste of money sorry not sorry just goto El Carrizo, Sapos Or the one and only El Vaquero because This spot isn’t it truthfully my in my opinion After a few bites, my stomach was flipping never again!!!!!! TACO TUESDAYS! 99 cent tacos!

We went Tuesday and they don't advertise this nor do they tell you...the waitress told us AFTER we ordered and paid and said management tells them not to tell guest until AFTER they pay. We were pretty upset about this and would have visited again but decided not to because of this. It was kinda messed up of them to not tell us while we were there.

The food is pretty good, like I said we would have went back because it was good. The portions are decent size for the price, none of us left hungry. The place is clean and the staff was really friendly. Food had really good flavors, prices were good for the size of food and the quality. Meats seasoned well, they only have chorizo in some tacos and nothing else which was a let down. Nice size...
