I was in this establishment on St. Patrick's day this year and immediately after arriving noticed several people that had be clearly over served. Shortly after seeing those people one of the friends that I was with went inside to order a drink and was told by the bar tender that her tab was closed and they didn't have her card. She was upset but when the staff had suggested that maybe her boyfriend had closed it and had the card she went to talk to him, luckily it was him who closed the tab because he thought we were all leaving shortly. After she returned to the bar with her card the bartender demanded that she apologize for the misunderstanding and then refused to serve her after she apologized because that one wasn't good enough. After her boyfriend went up to talk to the staff he was then treated very rudely by the staff and was informed they only serve him his drinks. Later on in the evening the bar tender that had instigated the entire incident had found us on the patio and got upset that someone didn't leave a tip on their tab and had written that he was the reason they did not leave a tip. After that bartender waived the tab in my fiance's face asking if that was her tab and she informed him it was not hers he asked us to leave. Which then we had asked to speak with the manager, he then claimed to be the manager on duty and escorted us out of the building words were exchanged on both sides which ended with him shouting out the door at us "you need to find Jesus." After I took some time to calm down about this so I could convey my experience in polite manner I then messaged the bar's Facebook page asking for some kind of action with the employee. They read the message the next day but did not respond, that was a week ago.
Were we perfect bar patrons that evening? No, but by no means were we out of control or putting anyone in danger. If you are looking to go a bar arcade I would recommend going elsewhere because nobody deserves to be treated in this manner even if they are behaving in a manner that would require the staff being asked to leave. Finally the fact that the management has not done anything about this incident just shows that they do not care about their customers...
Read moreI frequent this arcade but today I brought my children with me. The bartenders were awesome and the drinks were really good but I did have an issue with a dance dance Revolution game. I had to be reset multiple times, and for the third time the guy who worked there unplug the game and told me that it over when myself and my children were having a really good time of the game. He was very rude about it, and did not even allow us to continue our evening, which kind of ruined our Sunday funday as I brought my kids with me .The bartenders were awesome and the drinks were really good but I did have a issue with a dance dance Revolution game. There was a very sweet young girl with a tennis skirt who was our bartender who is amazing and there was an awesome guy with a mullet. I did not catch his name, but he was phenomenal as well. Read moreOld North Arcade is frankly amazing. They have vintage game consoles (with a good library) for free play, as well as a multitude of vintage arcade games (most of which are free play). Available drinks include craft beer, themed cocktails (try save the princess it's great) and soda. The atmosphere is really laid back, and there is a patio which is walled off from the street and has a projection display. It can get a little crowded on weekends, so if you prefer a quieter time definitely consider going Sunday through Wednesday. You can go by yourself, but it's more fun with friends. I highly recommend taking a date and playing some of the two player arcade games. Mrs.Pacman in particular was a hit with a date recently.
Parking is a bit of a hassle if you can't find a spot on the street. Directly behind the building are several lots which are tow away lots for residents of apartments only. There are about 8 spots on the side of the building that belong to the ACE hardware. They have marked tow-away signs, but the ACE closes early around 8. Parking there after 8pm...
