I brought my family to eat dinner at Roosters because we have always loved the wings, despite the greasy floors. We ordered a few drinks and an appetizer. Once it was dropped off we ordered our food. My wife ordered 5 wings medium garlic, Mother in law ordered the pizza and a salad and my son got the burger double tots, I ordered 10 flappers hot and a side of curly fries. 45 minutes later they brought my son's burger, Mother in law's pizza and the side of curly fries - they apologized for the wait on the wings and said they should be here in a couple of minutes. Everything is fine at this point. 15 minutes later they drop off the wings for my wife and myself. I taste one wing and notice that they're BBQ and not hot and my wife's weren't medium garlic. No big deal and we tell our server. My wife is fine with hers but I asked if I can get the flappers hot. She said she will have them recook them for me. Literally 1 and a half minutes later they're bringing me the redone wings. We were saying that's fast since the first order took 45-60 minutes. I count the wings cause I saw the one I ate sitting there on another plate. I had 9 new wings they just brought out. All they did was pour the hot wing sauce on the ones they had originally cooked and put them in a new basket. That would have been fine and I wouldn't had said anything but to my face my server said they cooked you a whole new batch of wings "I PROMISE" actual words out of her mouth. Now knowing that there were only 9 wings on my new plate I new that wasn't true and either she was lying or the cooks lied to her and she was repeating what they told her. Either way I politely asked for the manager. (The server didn't ask about why we needed to talk to the manager) We didn't see the manager until she walked out to the food line and started talking to a cooks. A couple minutes later she walks to our table with a basket of 10 flappers hot. At this point I didn't even want the wings. Who knows if the cooks spit in them or what. I found it interesting that the manager brought out new wings without talking with us. She obviously knew they were covering it up. I understand mistakes are made and I would have gladly waited another 10 minutes for a new set of wings but to try to be dishonest and deceitful to a paying customer and cover up mistakes is appalling. I would much rather go to a restaurant and have an OK meal and have people be honest than go somewhere where they are trying to "put one over" on their customers. I will never be back and to a restaurant losing one customer may not make much difference but if this type of management and customer service continues more than just one customer will be lost. Reputation of the restaurant...

I actually love Roosters !! However worst experience ever at a restaurant tonight. We got there and were told to "sit wherever we would like."... so we did but all 7-8 empty tables were dirty. After 4 minutes of standing in front of a booth a nice employee cleared it off, wiped it down and left napkins for us to dry off the table. I didn't have a problem drying off the table however when the waitress shows up while we are drying of the table asking us for our drink order... hummm ?? Was she too lazy to clear, clean or even dry the table so the patrons didn't have to do it so they could sit down... ??? She brought us our drinks in a timely manor and asked if we are "ready to order ?" Well going to Roosters 2-3 times a month we knew what we wanted. We ordered our food and asked that the Dumpster Chips come out with the meal. That didn't happen... They came out well before the meal from a server. The server sat them down as if in passing without saying a word. She didn't even ask if we ordered them. Several minutes later the server walked by and asked "how are the chips ?" When I stated we were waiting for the food order she apologized and offer to take them back and put them under the heat lamp... Really.. No! I'd rather just eat the room temperature, soggy chips than eat heat lamp food. Eventually our food comes out. What a disaster. The waitress hands over the first 10 wings and as she is reaching over the table with basket number two of wings whoops there goes my full glass of ice tea... Yep you guessed it all over the table, off the side of the table and in my lap. Cha-ching bulls-eye !!! I think we all know the rest of the story from there. But wait that is not all. After the clean up we finally start eating. I like Roosters (and went there tonight) for there greasy, saucy wings however tonight we got the most plain, no flavor having, bland wings ever and my kid's fries looked like they just came out of the freezer.
Now I understand we all have our bad days and our poop is not in a group but for cry'n-out-loud have a manger come by and apologize or something and on top of no managerial or sincere apology (other than the drink spillage issue) they hand me the bill with no kind of compensation.
I drove a little further (not by much) too go to a nicer Roosters but I guess I will go back to "the ol'dive" and get the service and quality of food that I have enjoyed in the past.
I gave my 2 stars because I really do think Roosters has some of the best wings just we had a terrible...
Read moreI eat at pretty much all the Roosters on the north side of Columbus. This one is usually pretty quick when it comes to service and getting a table but maybe that's because the place is so dirty. We were seated almost as soon as we walked in the door last night that is... after one of the hostesses noticed someone walked in, but we were sat at a sticky table with a spilled drink in front of it. I guess they think just putting up a 'caution, wet floor' sign means that it doesn't need to be cleaned up. I wish I took a picture because we were sat at a table with a spilled drink in front of it the WHOLE time. No one ever came to clean it up. All five of the hostesses last night (12/28) just stood around talking. Two of them even told us they were waiting for someone to come clean it up, The manager even came over to ask how our food was but never bothered to get anyone to clean up the spilled drink. I mean there was food all over the floor anyway. Our table was sticky because they didn't bother grabbing clean rags to clean them. Disgusting and quite honestly what a bunch of lazy hostesses. Maybe management needs all five of them standing around together and maybe that is their only job (I dont know why you pay them though) but we were sat right in front of them and they just did not care. Just to be clear we did not spill the drink and it sat on the floor for at least an hour. Also, want to point out the caution sign wont save you guys from a lawsuit if someone slips and hurts themselves. Our server was very attentive and the food was almost perfect. Somehow a piece of bacon made it into the Roosters nest I got that was requested without bacon but it was big enough that I was able to just pick it out. Also my wing sauce never actually made it onto my wings but honestly more annoyed by lazy workers unwilling to...
