We had a special event going on a few weeks ago on a Friday. We called ahead at 5:30 pm to make reservations, or "call ahead seating", for a group of 8 at 6:30 pm. We were told they don't do either of those things, but if we came right now, they could easily seat 8. We showed up at 6:15 pm and they told us it would take 45 minutes to an hour to seat us. That was pretty upsetting but we got there before the rest of the group so we decided to wait. 45 minutes later (as told) we were seated in the back bar area of the restaurant. It stunk of mildew. Also, that meant the bartender would have to serve a group of 8 on a Friday evening. We decided to see how it went. It took at least 20 minutes for anyone to ever come check on us, and it was the hostess that seated us. She took our drink order and was coming back with our drinks by the time the server came to check on us and take our orders. Everyone's food was ok. I ordered the whole fish which was completely overdone. It's a Mexican restaurant in Columbus so I wasn't super surprised. However, 2 women in our party ordered the same dish (a pineapple shrimp and chicken dish with sides). However, one of them got something with chorizo and no pineapple. It wasn't even the right dish. However, when the woman told the server the problem, he huffed and puffed in her face like she had done something wrong and took ALL of her food (main dish and sides), not just the portion that was wrong. He never came back with food or anything else. We had to go get him to get our checks. When I took my check (for my wife and I) to the front to pay, I had a coupon. The cashier said she had to ask the manager if they were even taking coupons that night. The coupon clearly said it was good on Wed-Fri night so I don't know why that was even an issue. It just seemed like everything was an issue. I realize we had a semi-large group, but we tried to make that easier on everyone by calling ahead. The food was overpriced and not that good, the restaurant was over crowded (tables too close together), and the service was terrible. All 8 of us (4 couples) were extremely disappointed and will not be returning. This is a problem for Sapo's because along with our food (none of us ordered anywhere near the cheapest dishes) and the 5 pitchers of margaritas we ordered we had to have spent...
Read moreOk so the food is great we love it and that’s a plus. On the other hand the service has been horrible the last 2 times I got food here. One day we ordered Chori Queso dip and Queso dip and the order was over $40 for the amount we ordered in dips. The problem was when we picked up the to go order we only received 2 bags of chips for all the dip we ordered so of course I asked for more chips and they proceeded to tell me we would have to pay for them. I’m just thinking the chips would be no problem because they are complimentary when you eat inside but they refused to give us more chips strike one. Then today we go eat there and order the Chori Queso and also Queso and 2 lunches and drinks. We sit and eat and mind you our server didn’t come to the table much at all. We did not complain about that but then the woman brings us to go boxes before I even take a bite of my food. Ok maybe she is trying to be prepared so she could go do whatever. When we decided we were done and were ready to go we asked for the check 3 times for 45 mins before we got it. Also we had dip left and was boxing it up and asked for chips to go with the left over dip and she says we will have to pay for them. We been sitting here eating and talking patiently while it takes forever to get a ticket and this woman said we have to pay for complimentary chips to go with our left over dip. I just need to know why this restaurant has a chip shortage when they come free with every seat. I won’t be back unless they learn customer service skills and it is a shame br aide the food is good. Maybe el Carizo will make Chori Queso if I ask them because they are not experiencing a chip shortage like...

He doesn't know who ordered what and as always with the servers I f today, serves the 2 that are seated closes to him. Which leaves the two furthest away and now has to reach over my plate. You don't know what all is on his sleeve, hair, dirt, and whatever he's leaned against, brushed up against. Loose deodorant... the list goes on. Point blank, don't reach across someone's food. So he drops off the food and that's the last we seen anyone accept for the servers who have other tables and ignore you add you ask for help when they walk by. This is a Mexican resturaunt and all I wanted was some salsa for my tacos. After trying for another 30 minutes... finally got to ask 2 people who never brought the salsa. I had to get up and got the kitchen and get it myself. That night was not about me having dinner with my friends...it became the night the most horrible service ever received. What's bad is we are repeat customers being like the 15th time there. It just arms that you want to pay extra Special attention to those customers. They just list my business. When I saw my waiter as he brought the check I told him if my disappointment abs he eyeballed for the remainder of the time spent. I did leave a good tip, though. It was a piece of paper that said, here's your tip... pay more attention to your customers. I hope that was the best tip he...
