My husband and I have tried to like this place. We've been there three different times following three different musical acts that we've enjoyed listening to at other venues. First was in the winter. Music, as expected, was awesome. The service not so much, but it was crowded (because of the band) so we cut them some slack. Second time was a week ago. Again, music was awesome, and the service was a bit better thanks to Christine on the patio. The food was really good, too! We were excited to return this past Sunday - again following the music. It was a beautiful day, and again, the music was amazing. Service was disappointing, though, as the server on the patio didn't even acknowledge us (even though we were seated right next to one of two other tables that she had.) My husband went to the bar and the bartender, Monkey, ended up taking care of us. She did a great job considering she was covering the bar, too. Everything seemed cool until the owner (who'd never even said hi, checked on how things were, etc) decided to have a conversation with one of the musicians who'd sat down to talk with us. There was some confusion between what the band had been told they'd be paid (by someone else at the venue) and what the owner was expecting to pay. Really none of OUR business except the owner chose to argue about it right in front of us instead of taking the conversation private. He shared that he'd been drinking and continued belaboring his point with his back turned to us but we could clearly hear what he had to say. He was very disrespectful to the musician (who was the reason WE and several other patrons had chosen to hang out there!) Hats off to Tim Oliver for maintaining his composure and remaining professional in spite of the fact that the owner was not remotely professional.
Third time was NOT a charm at the Point on Main, so as awesome as the actual patio is, the environment created by that owner was such that we won't be back. (One star is required for the review - the other star is for Christine & Monkey... here's hoping the owner treats YOU better than...
Read moreI have been to the pointe 3 times. First time for bike night, good time. 2nd time was to watch a band. Had fun that night too, but my 3rd time there yesterday evening. I asked my best friend to dinner and I would pay for it. I ordered a cheesburger and fries. She ordered fish and fries. We ate a fry and they were hard and cold. I took a bite of the cheeseburger and got a mouth full of grease and my shirt and jeans got a nice squirt of grease also. Not cool because harley clothes are not cheap! "The" owner handled the situation by making me pay for my meal and then throwing down 2, $5 gift cards and walking on. This experience makes me appreciate my management job for an owner who clearly has more business sense then this, and it would explain why my owner is building 3 stores a yr because of his outstanding customer service, care and understanding.. If I was the manager there I would of done the right thing and not charged that person and if I needed to I would of least given them a $25 gift card but more like a $50 card to at least cover the next bill to "give you another chance", and I would not of just throw down 2, $5 gift cards and walked on. BUT as the owner you should of been more business like and you would have 2 happy women instead of 2 disappointed women that will never be back there again. 2 may not hurt you but the dining area was bare, so there could be a reason for that. BTW I asked the great waitress if she wants a real job. I will hire her because she handled it a lot better than the "Owner"..... I felt obligated to pay for both meals only because I asked my friend to dinner. if I was alone I would of walked out, but I was with my friend and offered to pay so she would of paid because she did eat 1 of her greasy filled food, and cold fries. She took the rest home and threw it away! Moral of this review. Be BUSINESS like. Be a professional owner..... Because there is way tooo many places for 2 women to ride their bikes to eat, drink and hear a great band AND spend their money that they work...
Read moreStopped in on a Sunday afternoon around 4 for the first time. Self seating, as they were not busy at all. I was the only one sitting in the dining room. There were maybe 10-15 people in the bar area. Took a while for a server to come to my table. If I wouldn't have had the wait, I would have given 5 stars. I ordered the stuffed MOC burger (Mushroom, onion, cheese) with the regular fries (not steak fries). I could tell the burger is handmade and was thick. It was good, but not exactly what I was expecting. When I think of something stuffed, I picture being able to see an abundance of "stuff". I think I saw a couple pieces of onion. Not much else. Was expecting gooey or stringy cheese when I took a bite or cut the sandwich in half. Nope. Not sure if there was any cheese in it. Other than that, the burger was good. Fries were like the kind you would find at the fair (my favorite).
As for the ambiance, the place was bright and clean. Plenty of TV's around to catch your favorite team. Music was a hodgepodge of genre's, but a bit too loud for the few people in the restaurant. I heard songs from Ray Stevens to Finger Eleven. Also heard a mix of songs from the Wizard of Oz. Not what you'd expect to hear in a sports bar type restaurant, but eh, whatever. It was a nice change from typical music.
Overall I would recommend this restaurant and plan...
