City Barbeque has managed to captivate my senses with it's charming ambiance, delicious smoked meats, and delectable desserts. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that combines rustic elements with modern touches, creating a beautiful design that sets the stage for an enjoyable dining experience. And great music. The interior of City Barbeque boasts a tasteful blend of wood, exposed brick, and industrial accents, creating a cozy yet trendy space. The attention to detail in the decor is commendable, with vintage posters and subtle lighting that add a touch of nostalgia. The comfortable seating arrangements are perfect for both intimate gatherings and larger groups, making it an ideal spot for any occasion. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the smoked meat. City Barbeque truly excels in this department. The aroma of smoky goodness wafts through the air, enticing your taste buds from the moment you walk in. Their pitmasters are masters of their craft, showcasing their dedication and expertise in every succulent bite. The meats are cooked low and slow, resulting in tender, juicy, and flavor-packed offerings. From the mouthwatering brisket to the fall-off-the-bone ribs, each dish is a testament to the art of barbeque. The variety of sauces available allows you to personalize your experience, catering to every taste preference. Overall, City Barbeque is a must-visit for barbecue enthusiasts and anyone in search of a visually appealing and delectable dining experience. With its inviting ambiance, mouthwatering smoked meats, and enticing desserts, this restaurant delivers a delightful combination that is sure to leave you craving more. Just be prepared for potential minor hiccups in service and some variability in the quality of sides. I highly recommend this place.šŸ‘

I recently moved back to Cbus and wanted to give City Barbeque a try since it’s been over 10 years since I’ve dine with the company. The restaurant has been fully remodeled and is beautiful inside. Music was playing and it was definitely busy. I ordered a half slab of ribs and two sides (Mac and green beans). The ribs were tender and fell off the bone. However, that sides were basic and really didn’t have a lot of flavor. I think brussels sprouts and baked beans would be a great addition to the old menu. I asked to have a sample of the brisket to try. I was told they could not give me a sample because they were ā€œlowā€. The manager was a young black guy. Since then I’ve gone to the restaurant three times and the last time I decided to ask about the sample. The cashier said ā€œof course we provide samplesā€ she was shocked that the parson told me no. Consistency and transparency are important to me as a consumer and I hope the next time I don’t run into this. Parking is plenty The location is spacious with plenty of room for families, children, and those who use wheelchairs.

Saturday night, an hour before close, we arrive to find that they have sold out of 80% of their choices of meat. Beef brisket and pulled chicken are the only remaining options. To me, that means this place must be REALLY good. And since brisket would have been my second choice only to the pulled pork, I was in good shape. Unfortunately, the brisket was on the dry side and none of their assortment of sauces really wowed me. Shame. The collards were hot and flavorful and the mac n cheese was above average. Now, if you put nine other people beside me to taste the sauces, all nine might give an emphatic thumbs up. So I won't knock them for that. And since the atmosphere was above par, the only knock was the dry brisket. Get there at 7:30-8:00, and maybe that's not the case. Next time I'm in Columbus, I might give them another shot (earlier), and you should too.

I don't even have ONE good thing to say about this place. I am not even from this state. The sad thing is ... I LOVE city BBQ BUT I would spend the rest of my life NOT eating it if the store on 'east main' in columbus was the only one.

I never ate at this location before or any of them in this city/state. I live in KY and the one there ROCKS! People are lined up waiting for seating .. etc etc. Very well loved restaurant. The one here looked deserted

Originally, we ordered online and went to pick up. The order was placed correctly and the receipt backed that up. My husband went to pick up the food and instead of it being 'curbside' like we requested, he had to walk inside after 10 minutes and grab the food. Get home and the entire order is just ..... it's terrible. We paid for 3 sauces that we never received, both sandwiches were supposed to be with texas toast and only one of them came with it as the bun, the meat was cold so it most likely sat there in the store while my husband was out waiting for it to be brought to him and it never was .. lastly, they forgot the sides. No corn pudding and no potato salad.

WHAT WERE YOU GUYS DOING IN THE STORE BESIDES TALKING, GOOFING OFF AND MESSING UP ORDERS?! NOT CALLED PROFESSIONAL!

I decided to go up there a second time. I walked in and the store was a mess, staff standing in the front eating .. etc etc. I ask for a manager and the kid turns around, tells the manager what I said and he tells the kid ....

'Ask her what the problem is and then fix it. Just remake the entire order and fix what was wrong.' He looks at me and says 'I would come talk to you but as you can see I'm a little busy sorry.' First off, I don't care how busy you are. I have a problem and the job of a manager is to handle problems that arise. Not completely ignore a customer and put your job off on your employee! Rude!

I wait on the food to be replaced and the woman puts the sandwiches in the bag for me and sets it infront of me. My sides were sitting there in front of the bag. She walks away. Minutes later she turns around and asks me if i need anything else.

😱😱😱 um, YES! I'd like my entire order???? They didn't have my sides in the bag, no sauces anywhere ... nothing! Left me standing at the counter just waiting ... still! I finally asked a man for my sauces and my sides and left. Told him ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS GRAB MY FOOD MADE CORRECTLY AND JUST LEAVE. They made it soo hard to be kind! Got home and noticed that I should've made sure the sandwiches were RIGHT while at the store. The same one that was messed up the first time was messed up AGAIN. Wrong bread. I heard the kid yell out the sandwich to them for it to be re-made. He said it right! I don't understand how they still messed it up and cant read or hear a thing.

You need a new manager (one that actually runs a store properly and well) and employees that don't act like they're at home or on a game show. Professionalism is what helps a company grow. This place is doing everything except that and it won't grow or get better with the same staff.

LORD HELP THEM. Will keep my receipt until I see a store owner or different store manager one day.

What a terrible experience!!...

Placed an online order as I have in the past many times, picked it up and went home to discover that I was missing items. I called the number on the receipt and spoke with someone who informed me that they would remake my food, offered me a few complimentary items and instructed me to return to the restaurant within ten minutes. I do as I’m instructed only to find out that no one in the physical location has any idea what I’m taking about. I’m finally directed to the manager after ten minutes and three unaware employees who’s name I believe is Don but he has an obvious attitude. Don makes no eye contact with me and barely speaks other than to say he can’t offer me the complimentary items that I was told I would receive on the phone. He then tells me that the number I called is a call center and has no power over what the actual restaurant does.

He then walks away for another fifteen minutes to do god knows what. I am standing there so long that the initial employees start to ask me what is the issue with my order. I instruct them that the manager is handling it and continue to wait. After another five minutes Don screams my name across the restaurant as if we are at the ball field and makes me come to the actual line to retrieve my food instead of bringing it to the take out area where I am and where my food is designated to go. In the pursuit of not making a scene I just took my replacement items and left.

This exchange made me very uncomfortable. I have spent hundreds of dollars and ordered from this actual location dozens of times as well as other locations in and out of the Columbus area and I have never been treated with anything but great customer service. It was a major inconvenience to stand around for a half an hour waiting on someone to right a wrong that they seemed to have an attitude about especially when it happens. I probably won’t be returning anytime soon if that’s the way I can expect...
