Waffle House — Restaurant in Columbus

The food wasn’t bad, but the customer service or lack of and the overall chaos of the places was horrible. We should have turned around and walked out when we saw a whole counter of dirty dishes and the staff running around like no one had a clue. We sat at the lower counter, a waitress came over wiped off the counter, did not say a word to us while she was arguing who was going to wait on our section. Someone finally came over and got our drinks and took our order and then left! There was more arguing amongst the staff of who was waiting on who and we were trying to get more coffee and the main waitress barked at us our food would be up soon. We asked if we could get more drinks and where our waitress went and was told she left and my husband jokingly said did she quit? We were told she had to leave for a family emergency and my husband said sorry nobody told us. Then the “manager” cleans off the counter next to us and tells the people thanks for your patience, thanks for waiting. Some people are so impatient and it’s really annoying. We never got our toast, nobody ever game back to check to see if we got what we needed. I asked if they could take toast off our bill and she said she didn’t charge you so there you go. No sorry about that or anything. Then when we went to pay, the manager asked how everthing was and he said terrible and she said of course it was and said my husband very impatient and cussed at the other waitress! We never yelled, raised our voice, let alone cuss. we said excuse me so someone would at least acknowledge us. They acted as if it was a complete inconvenience and we were the problem. She took the bill and told my husband to get...

We have been going to this waffle house for 3 yrs. Great until tonite and never going back. We each got the 2 egg breakfast. He got a LG bowl of grits and mine was a small. His came with 0 butter. Mine was literally in a pond of the butter oil they use. I had to tip my bowl and poured off enough butter to cover the saucer bottom. It was so gross. We combined our grits after that to try to even them out. It didn't matter much bc they also were not done with LG chunks smh. My over easy eggs had alot of raw white that the server seen me scooping off but said nothing. Also, our plates. Hashbrowns came on 1 plate, sausage on a plate, eggs/hashbrowns on a plate then the cold toast with un melted butter also had a plate. Round plates, not the usual oval platter. We each had 4 plates and a bowl of grits. We could hardly move! Lastly, the server brought another full coke when the 1st coke was still full. He said he wanted to top it off before he went outside! But he didn't top my glass of water? He never brought us our bill so we went to pay. He said I need your bill. I said you never brought us one, we waited 15 mins but you never came. He rustled thru and found ours. $33! 2 $10 meals with sides of grits and 1 coke. Never again! P.S, When we stacked our dishes like we always do, we found an onion on the bottom of a plate. Stuck to his hand when he picked it up. Thing is, we had no onions with our food!! So...

We going to this location for years now, and never had that bad experience. For us it was a spike moment to go for dinner. At first, we was not notice by waitress. Some couple arrived after us, and waitress went to this couple asking what they like to have. Manager Scott point to us, and said that here is another couple waiting already. She waitress went to us and start mumble something like " I should say "hi" as soon as you arrive, but I did not do it. So I going to say "hi" now". After she took our order and left. She and manager start prepare food, and forgot about couple who arrived after us. During preparing our food, waitress came to us, asking what exactly did we order, because she can't read her writing. After half hour, our food was ready, and husband's order was wrong. Manager Scott fix this in minute, and brought back very quickly Yes, food was great. Slow service, absolutely ignoring us, make this experience very bad When we were leaving, waitress start say "I should cook here, not do what I don't know how to do it" It did not make us feel better about experience.
