Firebirds Wood Fired Grill
Went to Firebird Wood Fired Grill this week with the family to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Have visited Firebirds a few times over the years and it is on our short list of restaurants to celebrate special occasions at.
The Facility
The dining area and restrooms are very clean well maintained and neat in appearance. The dining room was well laid out and not crowded with adequate spacing between tables. The dining room was also nicely decorated.
The Menu
The menu at Firebirds has something for everyone with steaks, prime rib, chops, burgers, ribs, chicken, pasta and salads.
The Food
First off allow me to apologize for not getting pictures of our appetizers, but alas I was hungry. For appetizers we ordered the lobster spinach queso and chips and the bacon deviled eggs. The chips were warm and the lobster spinach queso was delicious with chunks of lobster in a creamy queso. The bacon deviled eggs had a slice of candied bacon and a slice of jalapeño on each and were served on a plate garnished with a delicious smoky chipotle hot sauce.
For the entree my wife and I both ordered the prime rib, mine with Parmesan mashed potatoes and hers with mushrooms. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and properly seasoned, the creamy horseradish was delicious as were the Parmesan mashed potatoes. My son ordered the baby back ribs, I sampled them and they were perfectly cooked to falling off the bone tenderness and complimented with tangy sauce. My daughter ordered a burger cooked medium rare and said it was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
The People
I have said it before and I’ll say it again, people can make or break any business. From the moment we were greeted at the door until we were thanked for our visit we were treated very well. This kind of treatment keeps folks coming back, another reason why Firebirds is on our short list.
Final thoughts, observations and special touches.
We normally don’t announce when we are celebrating a birthday, but the waiter asked, so we were honest and told him. There was no singing of happy birthday (thankfully) but before we were presented our check my wife was given two things, a plate of crème brûlée cheesecake bites with one candle and a card signed by the entire staff. I think this truly made her day.
Overall I would have no reservations in suggesting Firebirds to a friend or family member. Or for that matter celebrating another special day there.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a dine in restaurant. Besides our waiter, the entire time spent there was horrible. I took my boyfriend to what used to be our favorite steak restaurant for his Birthday meal; at least his meal was made properly! We ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer--these were good. We then ordered what we thought would be very simple meals; two 12 oz. Ribeyes, one medium and one rare both with a side of street corn. Well when the meals arrived, lets just say one looked like a steak and one looked like a charred pork chop; I could tap it with my knife and the char actually fell onto my plate. The manager came to the table of course and let me know that they would " cook mine on the flat top" so as to cook it properly for me. I then let her know that if the grill staff had not weighted my steak down in a rush to get mine done ( since my boyfriend's was rare), then it would not have been smashed and charred. After this interaction, I told my boyfriend to at least enjoy his Birthday meal and I would eat when they brought me mine. Well, that never happened....16, yes 16 minutes later I had to walk to the manager and ask her to cancel my meal as my boyfriend had already finished. She looked straight at me and said " they are cooking it really slow for you as to make sure it is done right"! I told her again, this is ridiculous, cancel my part of the order and bring us the check. She then follows me over to my table, leans in and says, "we can always put yours in a box for you to take home". I repeated myself again, "just bring the check". She walks away and then comes back and then this time leans in and says", clearly since this has been such a horrible experience for you, I went ahead and comped your bill". I told her again for the final time, " bring me the check for the food that we ate as we are going to pay for that!'. I have never been talked to so rudely, as if i was beneath her some how. I am a paying customer just like anyone else and it is sad that a restaurant that usually has such high standards became so petty over a steak, that if cooked properly the first time, this review would not be here and we would remain repeat customers. As for the manager, your communication skills are very lacking and need work.

Read moreI've had their sampler that had ribs, steaks mashed potatoes and something before and it was good not great and ive had their chocolate cake which is super amazingly good and my wife loves their 5 layer lemon w blueberries cake but that was all delivered to us through doordash and a friend. This night we celebrated our anniversary and we wanted to go in and try the place in person and saw good reviews. Honestly we weren't impressed. Felt like the menu is really limited. Everything fits on one page. Then the lunch stuff is available but "they don't promote it" which means they don't tell you it's available or give you the menu for it. ?? After starting our meal I remembered seeing fish tacos online but it wasn't on the menu we were given so I asked and was told this. We both got the fireside chicken pasta and it was ok but was missing something. It definitely should have come with garlic bread or baguette or something and it felt like they focused on the hot spice but forgot a couple others (my wife said garlic and some cheese) so we're gonna doctor up the leftovers. The philly cheesesteak egg rolls were good but i was very hungry so i think that helped them out but I don't think they were $17 good ie to be just two cut in half and kind of greasy from the burger inside. The drinks were very good- red sangria and grilled pineapple mule. It was tough not to get the choc cake because its so good but i wanted to try the carrot cake w warm caramel sauce because the description was so good..... and it was super weak. No spice in it. Tasted blah. After two bites I just sat there disappointed. The waiter asked and I told him I didn't like it very much and he apologized. After getting home though I feel like he should have offered to switch it out for the chocolate cake. I was on my 2nd sangria and enjoying my anniversary so I didn't even think to make a fuss but afterward I feel like on a $140 bill and really no matter the bill he shouldve hooked us up. Because our anniversary he did give us some cheesecake bites but I didnt much like those either lol. Not counting the drinks, chocolate cake, and lemon cake I would...
