I hate giving bad reviews because I am a business owner and I know sometimes it’s a struggle and I also know you can’t make everyone happy. Did we have fun yes we did BUT - is it a place I’d pull money out for again? Not unless things changed. It cost us $155 for 4 people for After Hours on Friday night - which is from 9-11pm. Paid online and did our waivers online. At 9pm the line was out the door. We did not get through check-in until 9:50pm there were still quiet a bit of people try to get through check-in - which they were well after 10pm getting in. Online says you have to buy their socks - ok par for the course with all these activity centers. Bought them online. After hour tshirts are optional - but when you get there it says they are required $7.99 - mmmm I paid $33 per person already plus bought socks at $4.99? That would be $45.98 per person on a Friday night 9-11pm ummm I can pay $45 and spend a whole day at Kings Island. Anyways you gotta tell people the whole story. You can’t advertise online one thing and then when you show up it’s a different story. So now I’ve paid all this to get in and we are only ending up with 60 mins of slide time when I clearly just paid for 120mins? So I am being ripped off an hour. Buy totes so when your mixed boxes of tshirts come in your staff can sort them into totes of one size so when you need to give them to customers you know exactly where they are by size. It will decrease your wait time significantly!!! They spend a lot I mean a lot of time trying to find T-shirt sizes for people. You have to invest in more lockers - no one wants to come and leave their personal belongings laying all over the place. There need to be cubbies for people who don’t wish to use lockers to put their shoes somewhere. Major tripping hazard cause people leave their stuff everywhere. Safety - whew! It’s often difficult to see the bottom of the slide from the top and no idea if the bottom is clear for the next rider. No staff monitoring this either. Just like the water park life guards at the top and bottom giving thumbs up for the next riders to go. Seen several kids getting ran over at the bottom. And I’m not sure head first is the safest position for going down the slide at the speeds that you pick up. My daughter went down the yellow slide in the middle that has a bump in the middle and went completely airborne off the slide and slammed onto her stomach and face. The force was so much it popped her phone out of her back pocket and launched it about 3 feet - have this on video. The slide that looks like a toilet bowl a little girl came down and landed and then laid in the middle and never got out and a grown woman was next and dropped out right on top of her. No staff member there making sure people clear the landing. It’s definitely going to be a place that a serious accident is going to eventually happen at. Customer service - eh it’s a bunch of teenagers - I think you can figure that out easily. They walk in groups talking and dancing. However, if you have ever managed teenagers - then it’s kinda par for the course. Not saying they are bad - they are kids. Working their first jobs having zero clue about customer service and job etiquette. It’s the management’s responsibility to be managing their staffs and making sure they know how to deliver customer service. You have to babysit teenagers just like you do young kids who don’t have jobs etc. for me I didnt really have any interaction with them other than check in and Just paid to get a drink and the kids slid. If I had a serious issue I’d ask for management not discuss it with the teenager. I think entrance price for Afterhours is a major rip off and we definitely will not be returning for that. And I honestly feel like I need to be refunded at least half the price since half is exactly what we got. I think 28.99 for 90 mins is still a lot- a 60 min package would be a lot more beneficial. Compared to other parks with multiple activities this is pretty costly. We go to every action park...
Read moreNot sure where to be begin, but I’ll try. This place is too dangerous to be open and geared towards children. I’m in my early 20s and yet this trip ended in an ER visit complete with CT scans and x rays. This was my first and last time visiting, but unfortunately, it’s clear I won’t be the last with a similar experience if this establishment stays open. All slides are designed head first- an instant red flag… but alas, hindsight is 20/20. But let’s just start from the beginning.
This place is new so it wasn’t a shock that the staff were unorganized and the check in process was chaotic. I came prepared, having bought all 3 tickets for my party online, but still had to wait quite a while. It was also a surprise when I see inside on the wall that the after hours shirt was required for participants, which was never mentioned online while booking. It was only mentioned through the online booking process that the socks were required, so we had already purchased them. The shirt was offered online as an option but was never stated to be required. Luckily, the gentleman checking us in gave us a nice discount on the shirts, which was a very unexpected cost, so he gets the one star for this review.
The main & extreme issue here, however, is the massive lack of safety in the design of these slides. They go so fast, head first on a mat that only increases speed, with no instruction or pointers for safety from workers. The workers that were at one or two slides seemed to just be there to make sure 7 people didn’t go on one slide at once- not to give pointers on safety or instruction. I unfortunately went down a big slide that had a bump midway down. I went airborne on the bump, doing a flip of some kind and landed on my neck. It was all so fast, scary, and incredibly painful. I was in shock. A worker did make me file an incident report and was kind enough to offer an ice pack. But after filing the report my party left and I went to the ER to make sure I had no serious injuries to my neck or spine. I have second degree friction burns on my face and hand, strained my neck and back, and sprained my pinky finger. I am still (only one day after) in a lot of pain, I can barely move my neck and cannot stand very long due to the back pain from the trauma my body experienced. There are clear design flaws in these attractions that need addressed- as what happened to me simply should not happen. A properly designed attraction would not result in the ability for an average person to go airborne and get injured in this way. It is so scary to think about how many people will be excited to go just like I was and end up in a similar situation or worse. I was lucky to not leave with a spinal cord injury, but someone else might not be so lucky. It is not safe by any means and is certainly not suitable for anyone to participate in its current state of operation. I hope that upon reading this review, someone will choose to look somewhere else to have a fun day,; for the safety and protection of themselves and others they care for. Furthermore, I hope the owners see they need to make substantial changes to their attractions to ensure the safety of their customers and prevent serious injuries. After my experience, I’m certain that I’m not the first, and know for a fact that I won’t...
Read moreMy cousin had a birthday for her youngest daughter there two weeks ago and while the place has lots to offer kids in terms of fun zones, it was a huge disappointment from start to finish in terms of service. Firstly, it is so loud you can barely hear at the service desk. A team member checked us in, said a party host (whose name I couldn't hear) would be with us shortly and told us to head upstairs to a loft area where several tables were squeezed together. Quickly, we learned this loft served as the space for all parties in the facility, no private rooms, with one table designated for each party. I should mention here that we were a party of 10, so some guests stood, others sat with little ones on their lap, and some just dropped off their gifts and left. There was nowhere to hang decorations so balloons ended up on the floor and gifts were placed in a corner. We received two pitchers of soda, but no food. An hour passed and we watched as other groups sang happy birthday and ate. We urged our kids to keep playing but even we were feeling hungry. My cousin and I went down to the service desk several times to inquire about the wait and were told, "Oh, it's on its way... We're making those right now...Your party host will bring them up." You can imagine how restless the kids were.
For all of the children, it was their first time here. As guardian, I am watching them as they're coming down the slide and many were pretty banged up after a while (cuts on face and elbows). No safety instruction is given to them by the team member standing at the top; the kids are simply encouraged to go because of the lines. (I guess the waiver is enough.) My nephew is on the spectrum and let go of the mat in surprise of how fast he was coming down, leading to his injuries.
In all, we waited two hours for pizza to be brought up to our table, not by the party host, and received two out of three. Reason: Ran out of cheese. They offered another pitcher and three small orders of chicken tenders and waffle fries in its place for the table to share. After singing happy birthday to the kiddo and cutting the cake (thankfully, brought in), we continued to wait for a party host to check in... to no avail and would have just left if not for waiting on the bill to come.
Had I reserved this place for my child, I would have asked for a refund and certainly would not go back if asked. What an awful way to treat guests, let alone ruining this kiddo's...
