4.5/5 ✨ - We had a great date night at this location. 😋 Food = 4/5 ✨ - We got the Imperial Feast for two. I ordered white rice and my darling man opted for fried rice. I was worried about the oil content, and I was thinking long-term (aka leftovers, pic included and paired with home-grown yellow squash 😉). The soup was great, salad was tasty (could do with actual bacon bits, to up the taste-factor ante, but nobody asked me), and our chef was engaging and charismatic. Our food was great, and I particularly enjoyed the steak and vegetables. We both also ordered Sapporo beers to pair with our food, which is a great light beer, for those of you that are of age 👀 and enjoy beer. 🍻 Also, the bean sprouts were a clear enhancement of all the flavors. Service = 5/5 ✨ - Five out of seven of us caught the airborne rice 🍚, so our chef was clearly superior. I don't make the rules. Atmosphere = 5/5 ✨ - No complaints. Don't throw coins in the pond. #KeepKoiAlive

Hibachi for the win! I was craving chicken habachi on this day. We were seated right away. The salad had a ginger like dressing on it. I'm not a huge ginger fan and would have preferred yum yum but was not asked or given that option. I ordered chicken & steak (ny strip) habachi with fried rice and vegetables. My companion ordered chicken habachi, steamed rice and vegetables and Gyoza. Everything was good. Our cook did a good job. He did mix up someone elses order, but that was fixed. They had some drink specials posted on the entry door, but I noticed none of the specials or the drinks on the menu had a description of what was in each drink. Instead of getting the bartender to explain each drink, I opted for water. Overall experience was average, food was just above average.

Ate here tonight & was in line right @ 5pm for dinner. As drinks were brought out the Waitress accidentally dropped a glass cup & it shattered EVERYWHERE right on top of the cooking grill. A Young Manager came(no more than early 20s if that)& they did attempt to clean. However before they officially brought the food to begin cooking we kept finding shards of glass around our plates, in the corners of the grill top, glass in the cage that's along side the grill & to be truthful this seriously made us EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Our group & our immediate table neighbors, really had an issue with how the entire situation was handled. Instead of moving us to another table initially, We literally had to complain to be moved. When that same Young Manager came back out(after a Staff Member went to get him)it was as if he was completely dumbfounded at our & our immediate table neighbors request to move to another table due to us still finding shards of glass. Right as our food was about to go on the grill, our immediate table neighbors made the comment to the cook (who had no idea what was going on)"she dropped a glass on there could you please please just clean it again because we're still seeing glass & this isn't worth going to the hospital over". At that point my BF says "we should've been moved & this should be shut down because it's not even cleaned properly, we're still seeing glass". The Manager actually had the audacity to say "to your point We'd never be able to use it again" & insisted it'd been cleaned. We KNOW & SEEN the grill be cleaned. But come on, we're literally pointing out shards of glass sitting on the grill, in the corners of the grill & near our plates. We were never disputing that it wasn't cleaned, we're disputing that WE'RE STILL FINDING SHARDS AFTER IT WAS CLEANED AND YOU'RE CONTINUING / INSISTANCE ON USING THAT SAME GRILL! The grill is silver metal & the glass is CLEAR?! HOW ARE THEY NOT MORE CONCERNED. I was ready to go. However after a little back & forth about how dangerous this is (like this wasn't common sense) we were finally able to move to another table. We & our immediate table neighbors moved. We just felt it wasn't worth the risk of having shards of glass in our food. Especially when we're picking up & pointing out shards to the staff. Upon cleaning they used the same towel REPEATEDLY to wipe that grill back & forth. Proper cleaning would've been to clean REPEATEDLY with NEW TOWELS, because clearly glass is stuck IN THE TOWELS PEOPLE COME ON! I just feel like this entire situation was grossly mishandled. The manager really ticked us off; he really had no care whatsoever & his body language/attitude was as if we were bothering him with requesting to move. I am in no way trying to be disrespectful; however that Young man is in no way fit to be a manager. He clearly lacks the ability to make sound safety decisions. You're putting your Customers in danger. When that glass initially broke, that grill/table should've been shut down & we should've been moved. Period! This is common sense! This could've been a major lawsuit in my eyes. My problem was NOT that the waiter dropped the glass, accidents happen; but rather that they expected us to sit @ that same grill VS. Moving us! How is this not considered a health violation to cook/serve food on top of a grill that JUST had glass break on it. We + our table neighbors were completely APPALLED @ how this was...

I'll start by saying I love Japanese dinning experiences where the food is cooked at your table! I am also NOT a professional chef, only a professional eater and I've been to dozens of these types of restaurants. I fully understand how things should taste, be cooked and presented to you. This restaurant badly needs to re-calibrate quite a bit in my opinion to get back on track. This was not a great experience at all and I would not recommend to anyone. We were not greeted at front desk when we got there for a good 3-4 minutes. (Not because no one was there). Service in dinning area was average at best and fairly unremarkable. Food preparation quality was well, well below average overall. Waaaaaaaaay too much oil was used on everything during the grilling process. No mention of the purpose of the tasty brown sauce sitting in front of each person... ie, assume everyone knows what its for when they come to your restaurant? What a shame, but what follows makes it a waste anyway. The veggies should have light/med grill marks from sitting on grille briefly with no oil and should still be slightly firm when done and on your plate so that you have an appropriate texture. Instead, they sat on the grill boiling in extra oil and we all received soggy, shrunken and oily veggies. Sauteed Veggies anyone? The fried rice would have been delicious, but yet again, extremely too much oil used and of course really ruined the flavor and texture you should get from it. Instead of somewhat light fluffy fried rice...heavy oily and muted flavor. My filet mignon, was cooked about right, but I couldn't believe my eyes, when the chef literally cut it into maybe 75 micro-bites!! Whaaaaat?!?!? I mean any smaller pieces, you would have mistaken it for ground beef on my plate! The scallops were again victim of a little too much oil and the egg yolk sauce was really good... IF it had not been...

I came here for my son's 15th birthday today. We had a party of 7 including a toddler that needed a high chair. Upon our arrival we seemed to agitate the host (I was assuming at the time because of our party size) and was told that they were busy and that it would be a long wait. We could see into the seated areas and the place was less than half empty. I again assumed that there was restrictions in place due to Covid. I was told that we also had to wait outside and that we would recieve a text when ready in about 30 minutes. After almost 60 minutes and witnessing several guest go in and get seated immediately I again assumed they made online reservations. I was about to go inside and check on our reservation when a group of 5 people pulled up and went inside. I let them get ahead of me and kept my distance. When they got to the front they said we have 5, is there a wait? They were greeted with smiles and was told no and they were seated within 2 minutes. As I walked up I was asked, can I help you? I said I am checking on my reservation, and was immediately told that I didn't have a reservation and that I needed to wait. I said actually I do and that you wrote my number down and never called me and that I witnessed several people walk right in after you told me to wait. After looking at the paper and seeing my number the lady said ok, here you are sorry. Give me one minute. I took a look inside the dinning room and everyone was white or Asian. We were a black family. After this incident I didn't feel like giving them my money and business. My son said it's OK Dad we can just go so we left. They definitely ruined my son's birthday dinner and I feel that it was for no other reason than us being black. I will NEVER return and encourage others to not...
