This is the only African restaurant in the area. My very first experience with eating African food was at this restaurant. The guy at the counter was very nice to explain everything to me. He even gave me a sample of a spoon of egusi soup, in which I wasn’t a fan but they sold a lot. Every taste is it for everyone. I decided to order, jollof, rice, plantains, and whiting fish. I also got a meat pie! The dish I ordered did not disappoint!!!! It was absolutely delicious!!! The sauce was incredible!! On my second time there, so you know I had to go back. I ordered the cassava leaves soup with shrimp, beef, and chicken, jollof rice, and plantains. Again it was delicious!!! The third time I ordered the jollof, rice, plantains, and whiting fish again and puff puff pastry. The lady at the counter was very nice and informative about the puff puffs. Delicious!! Yesterday after work I went back lol and ordered one of my two favorite dishes, which is jollof rice, whiting fish, and plantains. I think I’ll try the fried rice and beans next. I think I’m addicted, and I may take another trip today. Sorry I forgot to take photos because I did this review after I...
Read moreI’m writing this review because my fiancé is not into writing reviews but STAY AWAY from this restaurant. My fiancé ordered the oxtail stew on DoorDash and he said it only came with 2 oxtails and they were very tough. Something didn’t seem right to me but he still ate it and a couple hours later he was complaining that his stomach was hurting and next thing I know he’s hurdled over the toilet puking back to back for hours. He could not sleep or eat for 27 hours. Whatever was in that stew gave him food poisoning and he had to go to the doctor. I believe there is a health safety concern here and are probably also feeding people old and/or undone food OR there could be cross contamination going on. Just BEWARE when coming here.
Edit : To the Owner, it’s funny how you won’t take accountability for your mistakes. Including all the other bad reviews under your restaurant. Someone who was perfectly healthy and fine just randomly , violently start throwing up back to back for hours is just a stomach issue? Right after they ate YOUR food. DO BETTER and stop...
Read moreThe staff were extremely professional and friendly, I will give them that. However, Egusi is my all time favorite dish and I've tried multiple places that makes this dish and it has been good. But when I try Wakis, the bowl not even half of a half full with the soup. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Egusi is not supposed to be watery, it's supposed to be thick. It had no seasoning, no spice, no anything. I ordered goat meat and it was barely any goat in the dish. I was very displeased an unsatisfied. I was also angry at the fact that I paid $55 for two of them and neither bowl was full! I mean it barely covered the bottom of the bowl. I had a great amount of pounded yam fufu, with just two tablespoons of Egusi. So not cool! Will never come back again. I should've known better when the guy told me it will only take 5 to 6 minutes to make both dishes. Silly me! I will continue on going to the ones I've been going to in Atlanta because since Columbus was closer, I thought it would do some kind of justice. Do...
