Dollar General — Local services in Columbus

Dollar General (Macon Road) - This is My favorite metro retail store primarily because of the proximity to home: There are Always friendly, knowledgable and helpful store associates that do not mind helping you, whatever your question or need. I'm sure that I've earned "Gold Eagle" Frequent Flyer Status at the Macon Road Dollar General Store (also known as Eastgate Plaza) of the frequent number of visits that I can make in an extremely short length of time. (Laughing Out Loud Until I Start Screeching! 😀😃☺😁😄😆😆😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😛😛😜😜🙃🙃) Occasionally, I will get a "Wild Hair" and laugh at my own silliness, but I'm usually as predictable as my Smiling face (my Smiling 😷😷 eyes now) or the cleanliness & maintenance of the well-stocked shelves. Covid-19 Protocols are placed in plain sight for easy Public Observation.

I enjoy the wider, more spacious aisles of the Macon Road Dollar General and their bargain prices, as well as the DG Coupons which are pretty Special with me! I especially enjoy their Cooler Section which usually has a pretty good variety of items to select from. On most occasions, the available inventory may include: frozen shrimp, frozen hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, sandwich meats, breakfast makings & entrees, pizza rolls, frozen dinners, taquitos, Mac & Cheese, Microwaveable vegetables, frozen pizzas of numerous descriptions, side dishes, enchiladas and more! I assume that in most cases, selected grocery purchases will have relatively current "Expiration Dates" on their packaging, because whenever I had reason to look or go into the Cooler Section, I don't recall observing any dates that weren't up-to-date. So, In [My] numerous shopping excursions, I [Don't Ever Recall Finding Any Non-Current "Expiration Dates"] at the Macon Road Dollar General's Cooler Section. Please remember that my grocery itinerary would range the above-listed items, as well as Orange Juice/Milk to the Meats, and on to the Eggs, Ice Cream & Bread! It's nice to see those current dates while you're shopping, considering some of today's situations.

The Macon Road (Eastgate Plaza) Dollar General Store does not have automatic Door Entries. Probably to deter any attempted criminal activity. I have no problem with that, even with some handicaps. This location does have marked handicapped parking. Also, there is a wheeled access, but it needs to be marked for Public observation.

The Macon Road (Eastgate Plaza) Dollar General has improved greatly during the last 12-18 months and that improvement hasn't gone unnoticed or...

My experience working here was absolutely the worst. The manager Latosha hired me on the spot which I was very skeptical but grateful bc I just got out the military so I need a low stress job or at least I thought that the tasks at hand weren't difficult just repetitive. Unfortunately, I was trained poorly and even was expected to fail by my coworkers and manager( Latosha). Which she stated that "she didn't expect for me to get all of the tasks quickly" but would refuse to train me when she said she would countless of times. Automatically leading me to burnout due to my military disable ( PTSD) which also The manager, Latosha chose to ignore after i brought it up several times( bc i never got an interview to explain my disability).As a result, I had to figure a lot of stuff out by myself or asking customers and my colleagues when they got the chance. To sum it up I would state that this is a very unorganized store that does not value its employee but whether see them as a cog in a machine for the corporation. Speaking about that GOOD LUCK calling corporate bc they send all there calls to voice mail and the voicemail is full 🙃 Anyways I enjoy the customers they...

The staff was extremely rude and had no clue which way was up. Could not answer simple questions and had to call the manager for help several times. The store was unorganized and had nothing on the shelves but had boxes and crates waiting to be put up everywhere. It is quite evident that the color of your skin determines how you are treated at this location because when we asked to exchange some merchandise the cashier refused our request but had just allowed another customer of a different color to return without a receipt for a gift card..VERY DISAPPOINTING......
