Zeno's — Restaurant in Columbus

I returned this evening after work with some of my work family. I strongly felt that I was targeted because of my ethnicity by the bartender. This experience tonight made me feel very uncomfortable. I stood at the bar while the bartender worked the other side of the bar for a good while as she seen me standing there waiting. Then the bartender comes over and asks me if I was going to post up an more bad reviews on Facebook - like I did before. Stunned by her aggressive nature I responded with excuse me? I am entitled to have my opinion and discuss my experience as a paying customer and one who wanted others to know my thoughts about the establishment. She then proceeded to tell me that I got her in trouble with her boss an that he checked tapes an everything. Then she tells me she forgives me -- um for what --- my opinion? Then to top that off she said that she didn’t have to serve me. Hmm.. okay after this aggressive and condescending confrontation I then returned to my friends an told them what happened and left with all kinds of emotions. I've never in my life felt so uncomfortable an embarrassed like I was tonight...

This is my third time at this establishment this is by far the worst visit. First time I thought that $5 fries are ridiculous especially for plain shoestring fries the kind you buy at the grocery store but ok. Oh well. But Today me and my friends have paid for a total of 4 shots of grey goose and I should be tipsy but I'm not I'm writing a review lol...4 shots probably equals 1 shot and 3/4 of a shot.I'm sure it probably had a lot to do with my skin color. The Lady with the red hair was less than friendly. I went to the bar to order a drink she just looks at me no smile no acknowledgement of a "I'll be right with you" just a stare as she proceeded to finishing up with her customers. She came right down and took my drink order and free handed poured me a half a shot of grey goose. I tipped a dollar out of respect to the service industry but she obviously doesn't need tips or just does this in her spare time. I was a bar maid for 6 yrs i know regulations and that was not it. I don't write many reviews, but unfortunately feel like I have to here.

I love this bar for it's drinks and atmosphere and location - I have been an active member of the Harrison West community for more than 10 years.

Unfortunately, the bar staff of the past couple of years are very rude, not welcoming, and have harassed customers verbally and physically. I was not one of these customers luckily, but I have witnessed it multiple times in the bar. Specifically from a male bartender with brown hair and glasses and the "bouncers."

It is a very sad thing because this is my neighborhood's main establishment and I have been a long time customer.

However, until they get new bar staff who create a welcoming and safe space for all, I will not be back and not take any of my friends or family there :(
