The Cocky Rooster Bar — Restaurant in Comfort

TL;DR don’t come here for the food.

Some friends and I were hungry in the area so, I searched “Comfort Texas wings” and this place popped up.

Going to a bar specifically for food is always a gamble, and unfortunately I lost this time. The wings are maybe 3/5 stars. No flavor and they give you your own Buffalo sauce to put on yourself.

$8 for 6 wings when the quality is not there is silly.

The pizza is a complete and utter joke and should be avoided. It was a cheap $1 frozen pizza that they charge $8 for.

I trusted the reviews saying that the food is good. Just don’t say that you weren’t warned.

The service was decent. The owner and bartender were friendly enough. The only thing that stuck out to me was when I asked what flavor of wings they had on order, the bartender said “one size fits all.” With no elaboration. She meant plain.

It’s an okay atmosphere. I don’t go to small town bars often. I wouldn’t go to this one again, but it was alright. I just couldn’t give it a fair chance initially because of how disappointed I was...

I thought there would be live roosters as the name insinuated. I was a little disappointed when I walked in to see multitudes of rooster figurines of all sizes. After I sat down and was very upset most of the patrons and all of the staff sat down with me and let me know it's illegal to have live roosters where you serve food. Took a little while to sink in. I stayed n was very appreciative of the people's help. On a side note, the music is fantastic live and otherwise. Great atmosphere! Great food! food truck! very nice people! Nice prices! As a pleasure during Covid to work with the owner when she had no choice, but a food truck as a foodie, she owned a diner in her past and it was true pleasure to combine recipes. Her social media represented areas. Top Notch Eats Diner slammed out. don’t underestimate a business being stolen during Covid. This owner was a true blessing and a true business woman. She runs your business adhering to all laws and a great atmosphere. She has the same little staff. She’s had forever because she knows how to treat employees is that true because they be in Texas.
