This is one ov my all time favorite "dollar scoops" (I'm old school, so thats what my pals and I always called them back in the day) that I have been to IN YEARS. It's interesting how I discovered this small neighborhood gem. I actually had initially been giving more and more ov my business to a popular taco in the local area prior to finding this joint (The better quality and the more appreciated that I feel as a patron visiting somewhere, the more I will try various items on their menu & frequent there.)
Fair enough, right?! But---that same taco truck owner who I had been forking over my hard-earned money to, LAUGHED when a garbage truck driver (also waiting on his order) walked up to the owner making a derogatory joke about me en español. I walked straight up to them confronting both guys asking "whats up?" in spanish and they looked shocked.
Disrespecting me, as if WE ALL standing right there were not hard-working, respectable men waiting for a dang taco! The guy making the joke drove a stinking trash truck, and the guy laughing at the joke had been receiving my frequent business up until then.
I never went there; never gave them another cold dollar or red cent ever again. Tengo más respeto que eso..
I went scanning the area for a nearby neighborhood alternative. I hate fast food, so the nearby Arby's, Carls Jr , McDonald's, Wally world, and Subway were ALL bottom ov the barrel options to me. I tried the Carls Jr and my burgers were--- 🤢
But then...I stumbled upon MEI WEI!! 🤘🏾💀🤘🏾
I LOVE this hidden gem. The traditional Chinese decorations are fun and beautiful. The service has always been fantastic! I got my cohort from work hooked too after him & his pops eventually tried it for themselves as well. The chefs are holding it down in the kitchen and do a great job when I come thru like a sesame chicken and wonton stoner-fiend! Sometimes I order so many orders ov wontons, sugar donuts, chicken wings, & sesame chickens that its A MOUNTAIN ov deliciousness. I'm a MILE HIGH up on a mini-mountain ov wontons and sesame chicken. But when you work really hard doing back-breaking work, why not eat like a king from time to time??
Whether Im on the go & stick-N move, or taking the time to sit in & dine, I always ALWAYS feel welcomed, respected, & appreciated.
Some ov the nice ladies there memorized my favorite orders and even set aside carry-out boxes for patrons such as myself who like to order very large orders.
Whether yall are trying to grab a quick snack or lunch, dine-in & relax with your family or coworkers, or stock up on your next few dinners as I often do---THIS restaurant is the best place in Commerce City to be.
Quite affordable for working class folks. Not once have I ever felt disrespected by the staff or fellow patrons. Usually everyone who frequents there is chill, even if some the folks across the street or around the corner might not be.
I will not steer anyone wrong. I am an underground Metalhead & hard-working bastard, and I DO support great quality local businesses and local Metal bands to the fullest , unapologetically. Places and people like @ MeiWei EARNED my respect & I thank God that I discovered this place and these people, especially because Commerce City...
Read moreChose the Inn as a place to stay for a Menlo College class reunion on advice of friends. And, were they ever right! Let's start with Krystle who took my phone reservation which involved some specific requests. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and businesslike... including a cell message to me on day of arrival that room was ready for occupancy (which really helped with logistics). The place itself is a standard old El Camino motel that has been very creatively updated. While my room was smallish, it was more loaded with amenities than many five star hotels - microwave, Keurig coffeemaker (with Starbucks pods), refrigerator, iron and board, cool décor, great bed (pillowcases designating soft and firm) and even a welcome from management in the form of a paper airplane. Everything including hot water worked like a charm. Nice complimentary lite breakfast in pleasant facility. The staff were all great, genuinely happy to be there, and pleasantly helpful. It's a small place, priced well and run impeccably... one that I wish could be cloned in all my travels. You can find some more lavish places nearby but not...
Read moreI’m editing my review on February 22nd 2024. It’s been over 3 months since I’ve been there. Well, tonight I was incredibly disappointed. I got the lo mein noodles and they are straight up plain spaghetti noodles!!! You cannot mistaken the taste. They added some oil and whatever else they add. But it’s nasty. Tastes so plain. This place has lost my business for good. But I guess you get what you pay for!
P.S. and the lady who dished my food was nonstop talking on the phone with her ear bud the entire time. The only time she talked to me was when she told me the total of my food.
I’ll drive the extra 10 minutes next time and go to Reunion. There’s a place there that has way better quality food. Higher prices but worth every penny. This place here has done...
