El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Compton

I recently visited this location and had one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I ordered a double chicken tostada salad, but what I received looked like dog food—it was sloppily thrown together as if a toddler had made it in the kitchen.

When I politely asked if they had gotten my order correct, since there was hardly any chicken on the double tostada salad, I also requested that it be remade. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the employee working the window responded with attitude and clear annoyance. To make matters worse, she began speaking negatively about me, assuming I wouldn’t understand—sin embargo, ella no era completamente consciente de que yo soy birracial y también hablo español.

It’s incredibly disappointing to receive such poor food quality and unprofessional service. Customers deserve to be treated with basic respect, and if an order is wrong, it should be corrected without hostility. I hope management takes this as an opportunity to train their staff on proper customer service and food preparation standards. Unfortunately, this experience has made me question whether I’ll be returning.

I never like to post anything but this time I will. This was my first and last time going to this location. First of all when I walked in there was trash everywhere, it seemed like it had not been cleaned for days. The Grade they have is a C. Then it took a long wait time to order. There was like 2 other customers ahead of me. Then it was my time to order and the cashier did not take my order correctly. I had already repeated myself 3 times. After I paid I checked my receipt and sure enough it was wrong. I mentioned it to another employee working behind the counter and said she will fix my order. So i waited for my order and come to see it was wrong. I told the young lady and she gave me my order but was missing the main thing for me which was the avocado. I mentioned and said. Very bad customer service. Firs of all I called since the early AM trying to place a large catering order for my company. All morning long it sounded disconnected. at 5pm I called again and I actually got someone to answered. I told them I needed to place a catering order and they asked me to please hold. (Note, they didn't put me on hold more so they just put the phone down because I could hear everything going on. For about the first 8 minutes I could hear orders being taken and being called out. Understandable for me to be on hold, I did not mind. After 15 minutes I heard random chatter, no more orders being taken. No one returned to the phone. I could hear random talk about days off, complaints, talk about how many tamales were sold in the morning, then ladies (all in Spanish) talking about being tired, saying (ay que morirnos para descansar), etc. I am still on the phone. At the 29th minute someone realizes apparently the phone is off the hook and instead of picking up and seeing if someone is on the line, they hang up!...
