It saddens me when a chain store situated in Compton repeatedly offers sub-par products and service. I am further saddened when I log onto a site like Yelp and read that I am not alone. I am hopeful that Del Taco Corporate will truly see how this franchisee is representing them and they attempt to make changes.
Tonight was my final visit to Del Taco Compton. I arrive shortly before 12am. I order a hamburger. I get told there are no buns by a gentleman that sounds like he was "searching for sugar man" if you understand the phrase. He then announces that they just found some buns! So I order my food. At 12:06am, I pay. I receive my order and it is incorrect. The entire order is incorrect. I give it back and wait in the drive thru. I get asked if I can wait in the parking lot which I do.
I think they forgot about me.
At 12:28am, he brings me the revised order. I ask him if I can check in front of him. He says no and that if the order is wrong, just to get in drive thru again. I am a little stunned but proceed to check my order. It is wrong. Again.
I get down and the door to the restaurant is open because, taa-dah, he forgot to close it on his way back in. I inform him, that at this point, I am quite disappointed and would just like a refund. He tells me he does not know how to do refunds and asks me to come back tomorrow. That's right tomorrow. He asks me three times, "dude, are you sure you just can't come back tomorrow?" I was appalled. I said no I need my refund (I paid via card). He reprints a receipt and tells me that it was refunded. I told him that he did not refund but rather reprinted the receipt. He again admits that he does not know how to do it. He calls his manager at my request. She cannot walk him through it. Finally the cook jumps in and appears to do it (I am still unsure).

Read moreI honestly don't think this location should even be open. My group and I first tried to enter the restaurant during what should have been normal business hours. The lights were on, but there was no one in sight, so we decided to go through the drive-thru. We waited in the drive-thru for a long time, hoping someone would take our order. After about 30 minutes—maybe even longer—someone finally came to the speaker, but with an attitude, asking what we wanted. They didn’t offer any suggestions and seemed to be rushing us through the process.
When we got to the window, we realized the reason for the delay: one of the employees inside was more focused on giving attention to someone in the restaurant rather than doing her job. The customer service was seriously lacking. We didn’t get a chance to check the cleanliness inside, but the drive-thru area had paper and trash scattered everywhere.
As for the food, it was disappointing. The tortillas were slightly hard, the meat was dry, and everything tasted like it had been sitting out for far too long. I ordered a decent amount of food, including tacos, soft shells, and fries, but none of it was good.
Honestly, I can’t recommend anyone go to this location until they make some serious changes to the staff and their service. If the employees are more interested in personal matters than taking care of customers, they might as well stay home. This was far from the experience I expected, and I won’t be going back...

He returned $3.02( I thought it was more, but I checked. Appears to be correct. They're out of thermal paper, unable to provide a receipt. I decided to return the order. He told me he could not refund the entire order because I ate some of it. Two bites is not eating some of the items in the bag. He returned $17, and change. A chicken roller costs a dollar before tax. He said, "I ate more of the items in the bag. Here's the bag; checked( He doesn't take the bag). He makes it seem as if I parked and started eating everything I bought. No sir, the order and the refund took longer, which is why I pulled out the chicken roller. Just remembered, he gave me coins because he said he didn't have any dollar bills but when he returned my money, he gave me dollar bills. He returned to the window so I could get his name . I'll give you a star for that. Oh! I was not surprised that the manager was not in.
