So the owner PAYS for a sign and is closing the business on his employees for a week because I guess he somehow thinks the places can't run without him. That's what I heard other regular customers mention while I'm there waiting. They run "in spite" of him. He's never there either.
So he puts up a sign he paid for, outside his restaurant, to say he's closed to give employees a vacation.
Based on the years I've gone there, and the comments I overheard from other guests, I'm guessing he isn't saying is it's a forced unpaid vacation, and I'd place my bet that it's HIM going on vacation.
I hope the employees can file furloughed unemployment against him for the week... but looks like he took just as much time as possible to furlough the employees (but not too much) without it being a full week, trying to skirt unemployment benefit laws. This restaurant is only good because of its employees, no credit goes to the shotty owner.
If what I heard from your regular customers who know you better than I, and it's untrue you are forcing employees to take time off unpaid, most likely for YOUR own vacation, then respond here and correct me that you ARE paying them while you are closed. I will gladly retract my statement if it proves true and will apologize. Otherwise, cutting off your staff's pay for nearly a week, so YOU can take a vacation, is anything but allowing them to 'refresh ' like your sign states..and its insulting to customers as well as disrespectful to your staff after such an already awful 18months of...
Read moreMy wife and I usually go to this location once a week. Absolutely disappointed in our experience on 1/30. We arrived about a quarter after 8, not to busy, no line. Hostess seated us in the back corner of the sunroom area. Ten minutes, then 15 goes by and no waitress even comes by to offer a cup of coffee. We ask the waitress actually giving the table next to us about some service and she says 'I will find some one" and walks off... A couple minutes later another waitress and a hostess in a yellow shirt start bussing the table across from us. Again we ask about service and get the response "well sorry about that but I am not in charge"
Essentially no one takes ownership of the problem, extremely poor customer service and attitudes - we walked out. Highly unlikely we will be back any time soon. Too many other options. For the record we drove to he Breakfast time over at I85 exit 60 - much better experience, prompt service and the same good food.
Bottom line- while Breakfasttime has good food and prices, the poor customer service at this location makes it a place to avoid. No excuses, understand short staffing , even though this was the issue in this instance, plenty of staff no 9ne cared....
Read moreI want to start off by saying how the Male host and the waitress where very nice BUT.... the food was mediocre. My toast and bacon to my sandwich was hard and rubbery like it was old, the home fries had raw onions that was supposed to be cooked and where HUGE slices, over an hour later I still can't get the nasty taste out of my mouth... When we 1st got in there and was asking for a table the manager named Josh came up to the Male host right in front of me and pretty loud telling the host that if he sees any more servers up here standing there with the host that he is going to send the host home and had the server take his place, I think that was so uncalled for and belittled the host in front of customers, there should be a time and place for that night in front of a customer. My overall rating is a 2 of The Establishment and that is being nice. The five star rating is so misleading if you ask me and the prices are fair but not the best for the grade of food that they give you. I will not be going back to be honest, other than the staff being nice except for the manager it is not a place I would want...
