On Mother's Day, 5/9, my family and I attempted to dine in for Mother's Day. We experienced a very unpleasant and downright disrespectful situation. After being told for over 30 minutes that our table was being cleaned, we were escorted to our table. We sat at our table for 20 more minutes, waiting on a server to greet us. We counted 4 servers who walked towards our table to take a look and walked away. They never greeted us or came to take our drink order. As someone who frequents Famous Toastery, I am familiar with quality service being offered to me and my family from every server. After waiting patiently, I got up to signal the manager to come over. She noticed that we had not been greeted and gestured for us to give her a moment while she found someone wait us.
After a few minutes, a tall, white man with a ponytail came over to our table and was not wearing a name tag. He had an attitude, as it appeared that he did not want to serve our table. He immediately started to throw straws at my children. He hit my 1-year-old in the head and his first words were "We're starting off disrespectful already, aren't we?". He did not apologize or offer to pick up the straw that had bounced from my son's head to the floor. He then continued to throw a straw at my 5-year-old and it hit him in the chest. He even continued on to throw straws at the rest of my family. My mother asked "Are you ok today?" as she watched him throw more straws at our in-laws. He responded to her with "Are YOU ok?" with a snarky attitude and rolled his neck at her. After being fed up with his disrespect, I smacked the table and immediately asked for a manager. He uttered a smart remark and ran across the restaurant, as if he had been victimized. The manager, Claire (this is what she told us her name was), came over to ask what had happened, but by this time I was ticked off. Frantically, I expressed to her what happened and why it was not ok. This server purposely threw straws at my children, hitting them, and not once did he apologize. To wait to be greeted for over 20 minutes and to have a server throw straws at my children and hit them was EXTREMELY disrespectful. After assessing that I was not in a space to communicate with Claire, I quickly grabbed my things and exited the restaurant with my 1-year-old. My family proceeded to talk to the manager and ask for the server's name so that we could file a complaint. She would not give us his name.
I am EXTREMELY disappointed and upset that something like this would happen to me and my family. I worked in the restaurant industry as a server and manager for over 5 years, and would have NEVER treated any guest that way. Whoever that server is, is unfit to work in hospitality services. I hope that the owners and managerial staff take better measures in choosing hosts, servers, and managers for this location in the future. I spoke with Claire this morning and she had no regard for the physical disrespect that had taken place. She simply had a conversation with her staff and no other action was taken. DINE HERE AT...
Read moreWhere do I begin. First let me say the server Jariah was awesome. She was knowledgeable about the menu, very welcoming, and attentive. The other staff was friendly.
With that being said, if it was not for the above I would be contacting Google to demand they start allowing for negative stars or no stars.
1st. We were sat at a wobbly table that looked into the kitchen. While sitting we observed one of the kitchen staff standing around scratching on her stomach under her shirt and then going to prepare food without washing her hands.
The food we ordered was brought out super cold like it had just been sitting
I don’t know who taught the chef how to cook shrimp and grits but that is not it. The shrimp and grits was a bowl of grits with pieces of fried sausage and shrimp sitting on top of cheese and then covered in this disgusting sauce that was added last minute. There was a ring of oil around the inside of the bowl. Ughhhh
needless to say the shrimp and grits was sent back and I ordered the peanut butter and banana stuffed French toast. first let me clarify this is not “stuffed” French toast it is literally a sandwich the mixture that the bread was soaked in was not cooked all the way through causing the entire sandwich to be super soggy.
The manager did provide a card for us to return for a free meal, however I...
Read moreI do home health care in the area so for lunch I love to try the local resturants and being breakfast is my favorite I was looking forward to the new opening and even more excited after looking over the menu. So today I finally got my order in online and once I pickes up my order I made my 45 min drive home to only discover my daughter did not have her bacon I added on (note the add on is over $3.00) and then we had no butter or jelly for our toast and bagel. Also the omelet was thrown together and the five potatoes I got for the side was not worth the $13 spent. Then when I called the ypung lady who answerd the phone asjed me did I want to come and get the bacon , well of course not Im 45 min away, Im sorry mam is it anything else...well yes Can you refund my money back for the bacon? Let me get the manger, then she got on the phone and she seemed not botherd with the fact that I just spent my money with you guys and you can careless that my order is not right or that you have an unhappy customer. Good customer service is hard to come by and poor management has gotten worse. Times are hard and most of you customer's work very hard for the money they do have so waisting it like this is unacceptable. But she did say I will see a gift card of some sort in the mail...lol...really yea...
