Used to be a regular at J.R. Saloon. Was quite a great little neighborhood bar, loaded with history. Manual jukebox, multiple pool tables, darts, shuffleboard and a charming community of regulars helped to overcome the bar’s smokiness, creating a welcoming and historical charm that was authentic and engaging. Photos of horses tied up out front (instead of cars) and stories of a former brothel being run upstairs only added to the history and intrigue of J.R.s. Unfortunately, the current owners ripped out the original bar and shoved it in the back room, where it’s difficult to access.
