Went there today at 3pm for the first time at the Concord, NH location. I had a gift certificate and was very excited to use it since I had been to the Manchester, NH location multiple times and always had great food and service. The doors opened at 3 and there was a small line of people that went in. The hostess was overwhelemed and a bit rude. My daughter and I gave our name and she said it would be a couple of minutes. After about 15 minutes, another couple that were in front of us had mentioned to the hostess that they never gave their name to her and she was very defensive to them and instead of asking for their name gave an excuse about how the door opened and a lot of people came in in a very sarcastic tone. Another lady then when over to the hostess and very politely asked how long the wait would be. The hostess then stated that she wasn't sure since there was only one waitress on staff. Here is the thing, I get being short staffed, I work in retail. However do not tell people that they will be seated in a few minutes. Also, do not take out your frustration on the customers. The situation should have been told to the customers up front. Not have them be misled thinking they were going to be seated shortly. The reality was they were not going to be seated until people left. Plain and simple. There were probably 20 people waiting in the "corral" not knowing that it was probably going to be more than a half hour wait. Maybe hand over some of those free rolls and some water and placate people and let them know the situation. Even at the bar, you were only allowed to sit at the bar, not at the tables around the bar. So very limitted people were allowed to be seated. All in all, not a good first impression. Would have been better if the hostess wouldn't have been rude to every customer that she faced and if they would have been honest about the situation. She made the experience so much better. She was very attentive knew what she was doing, and I gave her a lot of kudos and if you eat at this restaurant I highly recommend having her as your waitress We made arrangements for a party of 10 as the restaurant does not take reservations we got there. There was no waiting for our table was more waiting on one person for our party not sure why they don’t take reservations. And yes, if you have never been here before you do just throw your peanut shells on the ground. That is a real thing. The seating we were seated and was a little crowded felt bad for the party of two next to us We were here to celebrate a 17-year-old‘s birthday The atmosphere here is loud, but as it says, in the name of the restaurant, everything‘s always bigger and better in Texas I had ordered country fried sirloin with cream gravy with mushrooms and onions on it. I’m not a big fan of their food anyway, but it seemed to be the best thing that I would have eaten. The steak is very thin and it’s drowned and whatever they put on top of it that you wish to have on top of it. My husband had the country fried chicken. He really enjoyed that we also had two blooming onions. I liked those. as for the rest of my family, there was just mortgage board of Food and nobody seemed to be enthusiastically. Read moreOur experience was comical I guess I would say. Eveything went smooth we checked in online. Got sat ordered drinks and a hot dog kid meal. As we had a 2 year old who was hungry. Waitress came back with drinks and took our order. We also asked for extra rolls. This is when it went so far down hill. From the time we asked for the hot dog it took 30 minutes to get. The time we asked for rolls took 20 minutes and that’s me asking another server for the rolls and asking about hot dog. From the time we ordered we waited about 30 minutes and no app which was only mozz sticks. At this point I ask for the manager to see what is happening. After talking to her took about 5 minutes. Here they are coming with our meals no apps. Could it get any worse… yup. My son’s and girlfriends ordered a 16oz steak they each got 6 oz’s. His and my daughters steak was rare like rare rare. Never saw our waitress during this whole time.
I can say the positive part was the manager was amazing. She was trying to fix it the best she could but at this point we have a 2 year old all done sitting and we couldn’t wait for the food to be fixed. We took what we could home. And you would think it would have gotten better going home to eat. Well well it didn’t. So get home and warm up the steak and I am pretty sure someone dropped the bottle of salt on top on it.
