This one truly makes me sad, bc I LOVE Cook Out, but this offense was 100% inexcusable. Excited to find the chain, I ordered a Cookout Burger with a couple extra items on it and a shake. I was excited to bite into my burger. It was thick and perfectly cooked. I was starving, so I took another bite. I realized neither bite had any chili or slaw, so I looked inside. With no cars in line, I decided to roll back through to ask for my chili and slaw in a cup, before hitting the road.
I started informing the employee who took my order why I was back. I NEVER mentioned wanting another burger. She interrupted me with, "Let me see your burger!" Her tone was abrasive, so I asked, "Why do you want to see my burger?" I wrapped it and reluctantly handed it over. I wondered why she needed to touch my sandwich. I didn't want a replacement - just the missing chilli and slaw in a little cup, but she hadn't let me ask. As soon as I gave my burger to her, wrapped up with a couple bites missing, she barked with disgust, "If your sandwich was WRONG, WHY DID YOU EAT IT AND THEN COME BACK HERE FOR ANOTHER BURGER?!!" 😳
NOTE: I never asked for another burger. I wanted the missing chilli and slaw to add myself, but she didn't let me finish speaking. As soon as I told her it wasn't what I ordered, she demanded I give it to her, which made me uncomfortable bc I planned to eat the rest, with the missing toppings added by me. Then she verbally "bit my head off" for something I never said and didn't want.
Employee failed to listen while taking order. Employee failed to listen again to easily correct her mistake with a small cup of the missing ingredients. Employee projected her mistake onto customer, blaming customer instead. Employee was angry customer didn't know ingredients were missing before taking a couple bites of an otherwise delicious burger. There never is much chilli or slaw, so I didn't think much about not tasting it in the first bite. Employee jumped to erroneous conclusions about customer's intent, instead of asking customer service questions, like, "What would you like?" Employee attacked character of customer (as thief), as if customer was automatically guilty of employees poorly concieved assumptions, when customer never requested a replacement. Customer only wanted missing toppings. Employee acted proud of herself despite so many poor service decisions.
After her unwarranted false accusation, I asked for the manager. He asked, "What was wrong with your burger?" I answered, "No, it's what is wrong with your employee?" I explained why he could keep the burger she made me hand over, I tried to return the shake too, and asked him for a refund, which he gave. He didn't act too upset to lose a customer. I try not to reward such incredible rudeness with my money, unless I'm at one of those 1 Star DMVs, where you have no choice. 😆
Bojangles had a line around the building, while this location was slow. I might see why. I told the manager I was extremely disappointed to say it, but wouldn't return as long as such a terrible service person...
Read moreI've been a very loyal customer, eating at this location 2x/week for the last for 3 years. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED yesterday to see they just raised prices by an average of 17+ %. (regular hamburgers up 10%, grilled chicken sandwiches up $1 - 25%). This means the real value of your dollars in the bank and investments has evaporated and gone down -18% . . . Again!
I'm really pissed!. Spent over $13 yesterday for a hamburger tray with fries, coleslaw, a milkshake and an extra drink. And this is supposed to be fast food?
I guess they don't want my business anymore . . . OR YOURS!!! Cookout was one of the last affordable places to eat. Now they've joined all the other corporate monopolies. Screw the customer for all you can. I assure you, my social security check has not gone up 17% this year. Actually it's gone up just 1.5%/year over the last 12 years . . . which is about 1/6 of the actual inflation rate.
I'm sure part of the price increase is going to overhead, Including mortgages, property taxes and property insurance. Corruption is everywhere now . . . Greed is the only value left.
. . . And about half the time they get my order wrong, and I have to go back and get the missing items, as you can see from many other reviews here.
If you Google the salaries of restaurant supply company CEO's, you will see that the largest ones have CEO's that are pocketing $20 - 30 MILLION every year . . . And this is how they do it. So I guess I'll have to come out of retirement, and go back to work part-time, so the billionaires can steal my money.
So GOODBYE Cookout . . . We're all through! It was great while it lasted. You just lost a loyal customer.. . . It wasn't the healthiest food anyways. Guess I'll be eating simple food more at home, and curb my food spending. You only get to keep it for 24 hours anyways!!
Just say "No" to corporate greed and corruption! I've also disconnected from 3 major credit card banks and 4 other corporate big box stores for the same reasons. You don't need them . . . Find the small, locally-owned restaurants and stores who treat you right! Like NY Hibachi Buffet: Huge selection! Lunch price - All you can eat for $12,25 ($11 Seniors) M-F 11-4...
Read moreWish I could give 0 stars! I won't be back, the last few times I've been here there is always an issue, I even called corporate last time, my food is either cold and old, not made right, or even frozen! I would think you could notice these things before you hand them to the customer but they could care less! I was charged because I wanted my sauce on the side so my sandwich didn't get soggy?! Thats ridiculous especially when I have a free meal card, and it wasn't even correct! Fries with extra seasoning were plain, chicken sandwich was covered in stuff although it was supposed to be plain, and I asked why they charged me for something that came with my meal, and was told if I wanted it on the side I had to pay for it, but they charged me for a cup of queso, not honey mustard! I've never heard that in my life, wouldn't bring the manager over to talk to me and shut the window on me. I have never had such an issue with a place and I'm just confused as to why they think its okay to treat customers with so much disrespect. I'm going to start sharing my story with everyone I know, even my friends who work for the local news. This has to be stopped and if the store, nor corporate will do anything to fix this problem then I guess that's the only choice left. Never recommend to anyone and will...
