Pho 777 Vietnamese Cuisine — Restaurant in Conover

Hate to see that my favorite Hickory spot has taken a steep fall from grace. This used to be me and my girlfriend's weekly spot for years, then Covid came along and really took a toll. The past two times we've been (several months apart), we've waited about 30 minutes for someone to come to the table and even acknowledge our existence after being seated (and we typically reserve our seat ahead of time just to be safe). Both times they haven't been incredibly busy (I've seen a full house there many times before), and both times we've got up and left after the server seemed to get offended when asked if we can get a menu. I understand that there's a workforce shortage, but there seems to be a massive flaw in the way this place is managed. It's a sad shell of its former self. I'm sure the food's still adequate, but if you can't even get dishes out the door, then what's the point? They should either more effectively streamline tasks for the limited amount of employees they have, or transition to a take-out only restaurant. I have been going here for a long time, at least 13-14 years I think. The flavor has ALWAYS been consistent and my whole body still relaxes after the first spoonful of pho broth. I literally close my eyes and exhale with a smile. It's the go-to restaurant for all Asians in the area (I'm glad to see other Americans coming in more often now). If you're new here, definitely try the number 43, best vermicelli in NC, hands down (maybe America?). Get the number 11 if you're a pho lover, you will NOT be disappointed.

Only negative comment I got to say is that I'm sometimes embarrassed to go because servers know me on a first name basis (I guess I became a regular). Hell, they recognize my voice when I call in a to-go order, geez I'm a fatty. Always had great service and their food has been nothing but wonderful all these years. Thanks 777, for always being there when I'm hungover or hungry! Only wish you guys...

Bad waitressing. I didn't get what I ordered, but was okay with what I was served with. Our waitress persist I was the liar since she confirmed with the one who served our food and the cook and that she was going to charge me regardless. Turned into a A B C conversation and we walked out paying what we ate. She needs to be properly trained or get fired.

They messed up my order, they never came to check up on us or refill our water, and said how come I didnt say anything to her since she was our waitress. Turned out she had ran over to DG and so someone else had to served us, but its not like she checked in on is when she got back. I didnt get a chance to let her know anyways until I asked for our check from another random waitress that was close by serving food to the table behind us.

When I go back, Im going to be asking for a different server...
