Casa Olé Conroe — Restaurant in Conroe

We've been driving past this Casa Ole for years and have been wanting to try it since most of the older locations we used to eat at have either closed or have gone downhill. We had been told some derogative things about the food at this location but still wanted to go. The food was just as good as we remembered it to be. The beef fajitas aren't on the same level as some other, more expensive, Mexican/Tex-Mex chains, but they are easily in the top 20. The queso is still good but nothing too special about it. Everyone in our lunch group gave a thumbs up to their meals. The wait staff was very friendly but extremely forgetful. The restaurant was half full of customers with four waitresses tending to everyone's needs. It took 15 minutes to have our orders taken after ordering our appetizer. It took another 25 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. An additional 5 minutes after that to receive our eating utensils that we had previously pointed out was missing half an hour before that. If our group had been pressed for time, this would have made for a much more unpleasant experience. The other things contributing to the three-star rating are that the restrooms were filthy and smelled really bad. Also, we were going to order some containers of green sauce to go but the waitress warned us ahead of time that management charges extra if you want to have chips to go with your green sauce. That was a new one to everyone at the table. We all decided to cut our losses and not order any sauces to go. We will come back again someday. Hopefully they will have the place a little cleaner, more organized, and not being so chinchi with their to go orders by then so we can give a better...

I come with my family here atleast once a week and the food is usually really good and the service from the servers is above and beyond. Today though i was extremely dissappointed. The service was absolutely horrible. Normally if it is busy then i dont mind the wait, i understand the staff is busy, today though it was pretty slow. After being seated we waited almost 15 minutes before our server came to us and then we waited even longer for 3 drinks. by the time she brought our drinks and took our orders she tried doing everything by memory instead of writing anything down so when our food finally came out there was nothing but mistakes. I requested no tomatoes in my food and when she brought it out there was almost nothing on the plate i asked why it was like that and she said she assumed because i said no tomatoes it meant i wanted none of the veggies at all so i asked for it to be fixed and she brought it back out with barely anything on it. Not one time did our drinks get refilled and finally another waitress came to drop off the next plate and again it was wrong. I asked again for it to be fixed and she left the plate there and told our waitress it was wrong and to just bring out what i asked for. I asked if we could get refills and she walked off and came back 10 minutes later with one drink and didnt refill...

So, I wanted to counter review a review that was left by “Snow White...” We were let in right behind that couple and were seated and had our drink ordered in BEFORE 11:04 - in fact, my phone said 11:05 when we had our drinks on the table - so there’s no way we could have been let in at 11:04. She complained to the waitress, who was wonderful and apologetic, twice before the waitress got her manager. I would have too, knowing that my customer had complained, not once or twice but THREE times about not being let in before 11:00. She told the manager she wasn’t mad, and then decided that she was a few seconds later - complaining once again that her “job would never open the doors that late.” We are talking 4 minutes, if “Snow White” was anywhere near correct. She then complained about her food, which the comped. They were accommodating, nice and sweet the entire time, and even sweeter to Ms. Couldn’t be pleased.

No worries though. I left our poor waitress a $20 tip, reminding her that people are difficult sometimes and that she handled the situation with grace.

And, I told the manager how well she had done and how silly the complaints were.

There’s two sides to every story, and I was just an observer. But Casa Ole was great...
