On Friday night, we went to your restaurant. We walked in and a few people were already waiting. The hostess looks preoccupied and tell us it will be a 5 – 10 minute wait. Not too bad, so we wait. We waited around 10 minutes and the hostess seats us. We pass 2 open 2 tops and 4 open 4 tops. She seats us and we wait for our server. My husband and I have both worked in the restaurant so we understand how things work. The server comes by (he was a tall big guy) and we guessed that he was new due to his hesitation and mannerisms. We place our drink order and he goes. I had ordered something from the bar so I knew it would take a little longer. Server comes back, puts the drinks on the table (not in front of us) and walks off without saying anything. I was just about to tell him we wanted an appetizer and we were ready to order. After a few minutes, he comes back with my other drink and takes our order. Our appetizer comes out in decent time and is fine except we ordered chips and queso and we were not offered any extra napkins or small plates. I was talking with our husband when the server comes back and give my husband his food first and then he sets my plate down, again, not in front of me. He set the plates down a little harder than necessary and walks off. He does not ask us if the food looks okay or if there is anything else he can bring for us such as A1 for my steak. I ordered a ribeye medium rare and it looks rubbery and has no flavor. I was very disappointed in it. The garlic toasted bread was not toasted but soggy. My husband ordered a bacon burger and his burger was dry and tasted like cardboard. He would have just at the bacon but that even tasted bad. His fries looked gross and had no salt. After a few minutes we both stopped eating and just sat there. Our server had his back to us, standing at the computer station near the restroom. He hadn’t come back to check on us after the food was done but we waited about 6 or 7 minutes. The server finally did come by and we voiced our concerns about the food. He told us, “Oh I’m sorry, I wish you would have said something sooner, we can get these remade for you.” We told him that we were not interested because we were already done eating and we were going out after dinner. He says he will get the manager. He doesn’t take the food. The manager came by a few minutes later and my husband told him the same thing. We didn’t mention the server issues we were having because he was staring down my husband while speaking to the manager. The manager offered to have it remade and we told him the same thing. The manger was trying a little too hard to push getting the order remade but we weren’t going home after Chili’s. The drink and app was fine so he said he would take off the meals. We waited around 15 minutes before the server came back and gave us our ticket. I didn’t hear a word of what he had said because he was mumbling but we paid the check (it was 16 something) and left a 5 dollar tip. I have never been at this Chili’s and experienced such bad service. From the hostess, to the server, to the cook and the manager. I have never sent in a complaint before but this was too much. I hope that it just happened to be a bad night and really hope that they are notified of their mistakes and are asked to...
Read moreI was pretty shocked at how dirty the restaurant was overall. The floors were sticky and greasy throughout...so bad that I had to tip-top very carefully to keep from falling! The first table that we were sat at had food and spilled drinks on the seats and floors. When we asked to be moved to a cleaner table the waitress said that the previous customer had spilled their Sprite and she was wondering why they sat us there! The bathroom was also a mess, both dirty and not properly stocked with one of the paper towel rollers broken and left open, covering one of the two sinks.
The food was not up to par to what I expect to be served at a Chili's. We have eaten at this establishment before a few times about two to three years ago, as well as after they originally opened and the food was great initially. However, the food quality has steadily declined over the years, in addition to the cleanliness. We had no real issues with service, but the service that we've had in the past has been better.
Another issue was the games that are offered on the tablet which are available to each table. My husband told our 11 years old daughter to make sure to not play anything that cost money, and she thought that she had (she never saw a screen warning that there would be a cost to play the games). But when our bill came there was a charge for playing the games. When we spoke to our server about this, she was not at all understanding, stating that a huge screen would come up saying that you had to pay to play... Now I don't know exactly what did happen, but our daughter was absolutely certain that that screen never came up... And I gave the server the benefit of the doubt and explained that she probably just hit the play button without reading the text... But that she was told several times by her dad to not play any games that cost money, and she is a good kid, and wouldn't have done something wrong like that deliberately. The whole thing was ridiculous! This is clearly a scam that Chili's is putting out there to get kids to play without thinking about the fact that mom and dad are going to have to pay for it! There should be some sort of lock out that only a responsible adult can be in charge of approving the cost for using the device. It was very clear that this has been a complaint made by many customers, because the server had absolutely no sympathy whatsoever and responded with a tone filled with irritation and speech that had been obviously given multiple times.
I'm giving two stars simply because it wasn't the absolute worst experience... But it...
Read moreI’m not usually the one to do this kind of thing considering I’ve been in the service industry for years. But considering every time we come to this chilis we have problems. The server we had today, we’ve had before. The first time we were waited on by her the service was absolutely horrible. Maybe she was having a bad night idk but she was rude took 20+ minutes to bring something as simple as napkins or ranch and just all around had a bad attitude or remark anytime we asked for something. We spoke to a manager. Paid our entire bill and left. Came back today, had the same server, service and attitude was much better than before. Food was cold when it came out but no biggy. We ate it. Soda wasn’t good so we traded it out for another drink. Again no biggy. We paid our bill and didn’t see her again for our change. Another lady came a few minutes later, brought us the whole dollars but not the actual change. 10 or so more minutes go by before we see anyone to ask about our remaining change. We ask a gentleman if we could speak to the manager. The lady that brought us our change was notified and she brought us the remaining change. I asked her to speak to a manger and she said she was. I politely asked for a different one and she blankly stared at me and then said sure. Other manger came out and was very polite. Addressed all issues we had (that we expressed to our server and other servers around). I told him none of those things are a big deal— we just wanted him to be aware that period, change is change. He told us they can’t grow better without people letting him know...
