Update 3: We went back for the early bird special. My wife got the sirloin and I got the pork chops. Both were exceptional. The only negatives we experienced were ordering toppings and not being told that there were add-on charges. Also, the sautéed mushrooms and the peppercorn sauce that came with the pork chops were violently salty. I’m going to rename the restaurant “Texas Salt House“.
The baked potato was OK, nothing special. But compared to the baked potato at Spring Creek Barbecue, this potato was flavorless. If you take the two potatoes with no toppings and compare them, you will find the one at Spring Creek to be incredibly flavorful and huge. Finally, the salads we had as side dishes were really, really good. The plates were cold. The salad was cold. There was a lot of vegetables in that dish and the dressings were incredible.
We’re still dealing with a very noisy, dark restaurant, but the food was worth a trip and worth the price.
Update 2: Sunday is their busiest day so we had to wait about 20 minutes. Not bad for a restaurant. I didn’t feel like having meat so I ordered the combination appetizer plate. It had boneless wings, potato, skins, and rattlesnake bits. The boneless wings were not wings at all. They are bits of white chicken meat coated and fried. They were decent. The rattlesnake bites were a little ball of chopped jalapeño in some kind of gelatinous muck. The muck was supposed to be cheese, but it tasted like undercooked bread dough. The potato skins were comprised of the peel, a little bit of potato, and a bunch of cheese food, topped with bacon and served with sour cream. Once again, the “want to be” cheese was slobbered all over everything.
What we learned coming into the restaurant is that when they cook a steak they put it on a tray under a heat lamp until it’s required. That explains why my wife’s steak was not hot.
Don’t get me wrong, I will be returning to the restaurant. But now that I’ve had more experience with their menu, I will be much more selective.
Update: the day before Father’s Day was busy from beginning to end. The place was extremely noisy and that was very irritating. The servers and food runners were moving at a fast pace and they barely had the space for two of them to be in the aisle at the same time. I highly recommend that you don’t allow yourself to be seated at the booth next to the server workstation. It gets even noisier there. If you have special requests for your order or want some thing from your server, it’s best to ask for it in the beginning all at once. He/she may be difficult to locate afterwards.
The sirloin was not quite as good as it was the first time, and the ribs were unremarkable. Yes the meat fell off the bone but once you got in into your mouth, it was lost. The flavor was lacking and the meat was dry. Either pour a lot of sauce on it or order something different.
FIRST VISIT: The food was great, and the service was great. We waited for less than a minute to be seated and our server was extremely attentive. We both had the 6 ounce sirloin which seemed more like 8 ounces. Each one was cooked perfectly and tasted more like filet mignon than sirloin. I never thought sirloin could taste this good. The earlybird meal from 3 PM to 5 PM is a great value and we will be...
Read moreI don't even want to give this place one star. It was a birthday turned into a nightmare. Even though we waited for an hour (which was fine since it was a Saturday night) they seated us at the outside dining area and never asked if it was ok (which was also not a big issue, but my boyfriends father is deaf in one ear and prefers to not hear the roadside noise from outside seating.) Our server came and asked us what we wanted to drink and gave us watered down sprite and a Dr. Pepper that seemed like it was sitting out for awhile. The drinks were replaced, but the servers wouldn't pickup the old drinks so now we have a small table with about 8 drinks on the table. The server got our orders and which included one appetizer and four entrees. 40 minutes later the server keeps passing us and never said a word with our empty drinks and finally said "did u want more -drinks here-?" (If our drinks our empty for a while I would've thought it's common sense to go ahead and refill them) After another 5 minutes our server then proceeds to ask if anyone brought out our appetizer to which we responded no. Our server came back shortly after with our rattlesnake bites which were extremely hard and cold. We got our appetizer and cleaned our table so she could pick our food from the side but she just kept ignoring it (looked at the plates) and would walk past. After 50minutes of waiting our server came to inform us that a manager was supposed to come by and tell us that they didn't have prime rib (which is what my boyfriends mom ordered). At this point we couldn't believe how awful the communication in the back had to of been for us to be dealing with this. The endless problems with this dinner continued when we found an extremely long hair in our salad but even then we never made a big deal out of it. We asked that the food to come out all at the same time but that did not happen as my food, my boyfriends food, and his mother (which makes zero sense considering she reordered) came out without his fathers. The porterhouse steak ordered was so far past well done I wasn't sure if I was looking at a piece of leather or a piece of steak. The fillet medallions were redder than ketchup inside and extremely cold. We had a missing side dish with an entree and never received the extra drink we asked for. Our server that took over after we requested a new one was very nice and empathetic with our situation and is the only one that provided quality service. Almost our entire bill was free where it was originally 110~
I'm happy they didn't make us pay for our food, but this was an absolute waste of time considering we also drove 80 miles to meet my boyfriends family halfway. Until management makes changes I would absolutely not recommend this specific Texas...
Read moreMy recent visit to Texas Roadhouse left me with mixed feelings. While our server, Hannah, was incredibly sweet and provided excellent service, there were a few areas that fell short of expectations.
Firstly, the food took an unexpectedly long time to arrive at our table. We understand that restaurants can get busy, but the delay was noticeable and somewhat frustrating. It would have been great to receive some communication or updates from the staff regarding the delay, as it would have helped manage our expectations.
When the food did finally arrive, unfortunately, our steaks were overcooked. This was quite disappointing, especially considering the reputation Texas Roadhouse has for their steaks. We had requested our steaks to be cooked to medium-rare, but they were well-done. The overcooked steaks detracted from the overall dining experience and left us feeling dissatisfied.
However, I must commend our server, Hannah, for her exceptional service. She was friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout our visit. She apologized for the delay and did her best to ensure we had an enjoyable dining experience. Hannah's positive attitude and attentiveness helped to mitigate some of the disappointment caused by the delays and overcooked steaks.
In terms of the ambiance, Texas Roadhouse maintains its lively and energetic atmosphere, which adds to the overall dining experience. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the staff, aside from the delay in food delivery, was generally courteous and friendly.
While my recent experience at Texas Roadhouse had its ups and downs, the excellent service provided by Hannah was a definite highlight. However, the extended wait time for our food and the overcooked steaks were significant drawbacks. I hope that the restaurant can improve on these aspects to provide a more consistent and satisfying dining experience for...
