Citizens Coffee & Catering — Restaurant in Conroe

This coffee shop and most others in Texas just do not get it. The coffee is fine, but the seating? Forget about it. The chairs are hard as a rock, and the whole setup feels like they’re trying to get you in and out as fast as possible. Not exactly the vibe you want when you’re sipping a latte or catching up with a friend. My issue is that I’ve been to many coffee shops in the UK, and let me tell you, it’s a whole different world over there. Those places feel like a cozy living room, with soft chairs, warm lighting, and little corners where you actually want to hang out. But I get it. Most folks around here probably haven’t experienced that. Texans might think this is just how coffee shops are supposed to be because they don’t have that cozy UK benchmark to compare it to. Still, once you’ve had that kind of experience, it’s hard not to feel like this place is missing something. Honestly, if they put in some comfy seating, I’d probably stay longer and maybe even order that second coffee or buy food. But until then, this place is an occasional “grab and go”...

We hired Citizens to cater our daughter’s first birthday party. The entire team was extremely helpful and responsive in planning the menu and coming up with creative design ideas while staying in our budget.

On the day of the event, Kyle and his staff were on time, attentive and left our home cleaner than when they came. We ordered açaí bowls, custom cookies and sandwiches (unfortunately, only took pictures of the cookies) and everything came out perfectly.

We typically cook ourselves for these parties and decided to try something new this time - the amount of compliments was outrageous! No less than 3 people asked for their contact info.

Let me start by saying that I'm a self proclaimed coffee shop snob. I like a coffee shop to have that warm inviting sit down work, read, or chat comfortable vibe lounge your in someone's living room. That's exactly how I felt here. I ordered a Butterscoth Latte, yummy and Boudain kolache. IYKYK. The service was friendly and fast. My cousin ordered a cinnamon roll. After we paid and sat down waiting for our order, they let us know apologetically, they were out of them. However, they did give her a card for a free one next time she comes in.
