Chicken Express — Restaurant in Conroe

The stars for this review are for the employees. They, ALL OF THEM, from the front counter to the person working the drive-through are outstanding!! After my meal, I was listening to the drive-through operations. Clear, legible and courteous dialogue between employee and customer. From a people side of things it is great to see people working so well together. Now...the food. "Nothing to write home about". The chicken was okay. The coleslaw was delicious but the biscuit was too dry to eat. Two pieces of chicken, coleslaw and a biscuit with a drink was $10.06 total. I would say it's a bit pricey for a single lunch but the price of chicken today is ridiculous in itself. The inside is clean. There is easy access (a little goofy on exit requiring attention to a potential undetected vehicle darting from the drive-through). The food alone isn't enough to lure me back again.

SOS!! What happened? I decided to try here again because I felt like it could rebound with some effort. The lady that waited on me at the counter was pleasant. That's it for the good part! Buckets were all over the dine-in area because of air conditioning issues. The side of cole slaw was tasty but the mashed potatoes were dried out! The chicken crust was so hard that the entire end on one thigh slid off like the chicken had suddenly shed it's "shell"...hard as a rock! The exposed chicken was dried out. I sincerely hope it turns around because finding simple Southern fried chicken, not nuggets, tenders or "fingers", that's good... seems to be...

I wish I could give this place zero stars because they’re not worth not a 1 After placing an order and getting halfway home, or I realize that my order was no correct. I turned around and went back for the second time and then I got all the way home and my order was horrible. The chicken was hard as a brick. I called back and spoke with someone named Devon. She does not have customer service skills at all and I can imagine how the rest of the employees or if the manager asked this way. Not classy or professional at all. I have even given them a great Google review before . I even edited it once and put more good stuff on there but tonight I have to say that I have to go back on there and put up a new review that is bad. I did mention to Devon that I was going to do a review because I was unhappy with my service and her customer service and professionalism from a manager and she said go ahead so here you go Devon and I’m sure you’ll get a great raise after this one. I sure hope that someone else trained the rest of the employees that work in there because it looks like she needs to be retrained herself try to be a little bit more classy and professional. This is the absolute worst Chicken Express I’ve ever visited!! Wish I could give a negative zero!! The customer service sucks, they have a Wednesday special where the chicken pieces are so small that my 6 year old nephew would be disappointed, and for the price you pay it definitely needs to be better quality food! I decided to visit them today 11/29/2021 because I figured that the food would be better and fresher since it’s not the Wednesday special! That chicken was so small along with the biscuit being hard as hell! I said something to them in which they provided another leg (which was little as ever). I got all the way home only to see that the chicken was old (hard as hell!!) and the roll was just as old! 10.00 wasted for sure…WILL NOT EVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION!! They are THE WORST!!!! Eat at your own risk...
