Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Conroe

Overall,

This Shipleys donuts does not taste like other Shipleys. Been going here off an on since it opened. Donuts always taste slightly burnt without the moist factor. Feedback is consistent with everyone who goes. Overall, the donut tastes fine but it doesnt taste like a Shipleys donut. Other Shipleys (downtown, Conroe, Woodlands, etc) taste moist, often the chocolate looks darker, the donut melts in your mouth, etc. These donuts appear to be knockoffs. I've never tasted a bad Shipleys until I came here.

In terms of service and people - no complaints, it's just their cook and donuta aren't at the Shipleys standard. Kolaches, etc taste good.

This is from a Shipleys love who has been to a ton of Shipleys. I'm just saddened their donuts taste old/burnt. By burnt, the donut literally has a flaw area in which it feels solid as opposed to moist and evenly shaped. Most cricitism is on their devil's food which is the worst I ever tried. The customer service was great, but the donut I ordered was probably the ugliest donut I’ve ever seen, and believe when I say I’ve seen a lot of donuts in my life. Although a women of my age should ask for a little more mature of a donut (if getting one at all) I still have a guilty pleasure of chocolate sprinkled donuts. This donut was just taken out of the bag once we had gotten out of the drive through. Despite its poor appearance, with its off shape, it had a chewy texture, and the frosting on top was sweet and melted. Been trying this one over and over again for about a year now. The guy who is always at the window always has an issue giving us hot and ready donuts, even when no one is in line. This is the only Shipley that has ever had an issue. Today we asked and he actually got us some. Or so we thought, we came home and they were normal donuts.
