In my honest opinion. The food is always very good, but service was beyond horrible!! I’ve never been the one to play the race card, but myself and my fellow African-American work colleague went to eat there after a day at the office. All the other non-African-American customers being treated very well (being checked up on, getting their drinks refreshed, multiple customers who came in after us were all served prior…and we ordered a common meal, etc.).

Our server gave us our initial drinks and after about 45 minutes, a second person brought our order. That was it…for over an hour no one checked up on us! But the Hispanic customers around us continued getting served and checked up on! No refill on water….NOTHING!! My colleague and I were at a high table, in a very noticeable area, so it’s not as if we couldn’t be seen. We constantly watched while the other customers were receiving excellent service.

While trying to get the attention of a server, they just walked by as if we weren’t there. Finally, I caught the sever and asked for a refill on coffee…that took 25 minutes (and yes, other customers were still being checked up on and receiving service). The server put on a fake smile while in front of me, but her face suddenly had a look of irritation as she began walking away.

When the coffee was finally brought over, I asked to speak to a manager. One of the other severs (posing as a manager) came over and I explained the situation. She just looked at me with a blank face as if I was wasting her time. SHE GAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE….NOTHING AT ALL…JUST A DUMBFOUNDED LOOK. She then just handed me the credit card machine to check out.

I went to the office the next day and spoke to another one of my African-American colleagues. He told me that he experienced a similar situation another time, when a group of African-Americans who work at my office, went there after work. He said that the servers were very rude and they were ignored service throughout. This was very disappointing to hear, As I was hoping this was just an isolated incident. I know now that it wasn’t.
