Updated review.. I would like to thank the management for responsing to our review. It shows you truly care about the Quality of your food and service to the customer. We are sorry to hear of the internal theft issue with previous management. We did visit again and give this restaurant another chance to increase our review. The food looked great but unfortunately they over salted everything which over powdered the good food. We ordered large skinny margaritas, which should only be margaritas mix, tequila and Grand Marnier liquor. At almost $40 for two we were high disappointed to see that it was watered down with soda "sprite" and very, very weak but "having a previous issues with profit loss doesn't mean you should water down expensive drinks to make up profit on the customers money" Which means they charge extra for extra liquor but only get soda. We were hoping for another option with great food and drinks made properly in Mechanicsville.

This was a great place, but do to a family ownership issues , management and complete staffing has changed. Food quality has decreased. And sadly I say, the price has increased dramatically making this restaurant no longer a great place . Our normal cost of the same things we ordered jumped from $60 to $99 yikes they are seriously overcharging.

I have to say, there are a Lot of Mexican Restaurants around Town. But if you want the real Deal Authentic Mexican this is the Place... It brings back memories of when I was a kid and Family visiting from Mexico 🇲🇽 and the Great home...

First time getting meal from here. I had read many good reviews about this place. We had our food delivered and I'm sure it would have been better at the restaurant. My husband had the Fajita tropical. He thought it was good but not fantastic. I had the Chimichanga with chicken. I asked for my flour tortilla to be fried but it was not. By the time it got to me it was just sort of mushy. The chicken filling was tasty though. The beans and rice were seasoned but just were not my favorite. They probably were seasoned to be more authentic than I am used to getting! The toppings of lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and the extra added guacamole were on the scant side. I added more sour cream of my own at home. Overall it was a decent meal just not as wonderful as we had hoped but was good enough to eat my leftovers for lunch. I'm sure we will try it again and order something else and maybe then we will see what everyone is...

We went for the first time of what still looks like the old Rodeo restaurant on a Friday night and they were not staffed to handle full capacity....to spite the servers going as fast as they could service was at best very slow. The food although good and in good portion did not come out together, so one had to watch and wait while the other ate. The big surprise came in the form of a surcharge added to the bill for not paying with cash (we used a debit card). With 5 Mex restaurants in Mechanicsville and 7 more in nearby eastern Henrico to choose from adding a surcharge along with poor service doesn't seem like the smartest of business decisions and will surely have us going to the competition who can beat...
