I really like Soul Boat, they are very nice people, but here we go, if you're a true Baltimoreon you should know the laketrout and whiting are the very same exact fish and if you don't do your research, but the fish is cut way too thin and sometimes ends up grease soaked and rubbery, they need thicker cuts, the same goes for the pork chops and the need to be seasoned but not salty but they are a little lacking in the seasoning department and they need thicker cuts, some of these chops are about ¼ in thickness and should be more like ½-⅝, the Mac & cheese doesn't seem baked and from what I've seen from the few times that I've had it is more of a cheese sauce like Velveeta than actual cheddar cheese so far these are my cons.
I love the potato salad, greens, black eyed peas, rice & gravy, yams, corn, cabbage, all of the chicken is very delicious, salmon is delicious turkey wings are delicious just a little small and need the wing tips, love the half&half juice, the cornbread is fair, the red snapper is pretty good.

Read moreWent here by chance. Just passing by. What a surprise!! The food was excellent with ample portions at a reasonable price. The order taker was polite and courteous, it was nice to receive good service for a change! Ordered the fried catfish, collard greens, macaroni & cheese, cornbread and banana cake for dessert. This might be the best soul food I’ve ever had. Only matched by this soul food I had in Atlanta. I’m visiting from Houston, TX and this is better than any soul food I’ve had in Houston. The catfish was crispy, flaky, delicious and not greasy. The collard greens were as good as my moms. The Mac & cheese was cheesy (not too gooey) and very tasty. The cornbread was some of the best I’ve tasted, it was almost like cake. The banana cake was to die for. It didn’t taste like bananas. However, it was moist with a delicious white icing on the top and bottom of the cake. I tried to save some of this meal for the next day but I couldn’t stop eating it until it was all gone! The food at the Soul Boat was wonderful, highly...
Read moreThe food from this place was good the prices were fair and the portion sizes were large. I ordered the turkey wing dinner, it came with 2 large turkey wings and 2 sides. Turkey wing meat was tender and the gravy was good. The price was $14 + tax super affordable. Then I got smothered porkchops with 2 sides $16. The pork chops were good cooked inside a little to long because the meat was tough when I went to eat it the next day. The mac and cheese was decent creamy not dry at all well seasoned. Last I got banana pudding 4 or 5 dollars I don't remember but the pudding tasted like can pudding or the bulk powder mix which can have potential when you add additional flavor or cream to it but it was packed with banana and only 4 cookies on top none inside. I prefer lots of cookies and bananas but I guess overall it was ok. I'd eat here again the food is good and the price points...
