I normally don’t rate food establishments this low being a General Manager of we'll known restaurant myself, I think 🤔the proper thing to do is inform a fellow colleague about the server and service we received this evening. The server we had this evening put in little effort to make us want to return. During our last visit, Blair was our server and he did an excellent job, that was one of the reasons returned after a movie. The server this evening was training another young but she gave her little guidance when approaching the tables. The trainee did an excellent job or the best she could with no help from her trainer. The first mistake she didn't introduce herself when approaching the table, the first thing she said what are you guys having to drink! We got the right drinks but never got my water. Then an appetizer dish was placed on our, which we did order it was the table behind our food, so the main server removed it from the table walk around the restaurant back into the kitchen, and then bought it right back out to the correct table. The same food sat on our table for about 10-15 min before we could anyone's attention! I thought it should have been made over for that table but it was not my business. They also bought us the wrong food which belonged to the same table right behind us. I don't if the server put the wrong table number or something. The server asked me did I want another cup of tea and I reapplied yes. She instructed me to remove my straw took my cup from in back and bought my tea back, which I have never seen done before or it may be the normal way for Applebees! The trainee took our food order by herself and no help from her trainer. I ordered the Classic Bacon Cheeseburger with no tomatoes because I wanted a good burger, boy was I disappointed! I got the Classic Hamburger and it was dry, the patty was split in 2, I asked for mayo but couldn’t eat it. The trainee did come back to the table to see if was everything OK. I told her about the burger and she told me she was see if they would make it right. She even mentioned why is the patty split in two like that. Well making it right didn’t happen, they sent her back to the table with some bacon on the plate still no cheese then charged me .79 cents for the bacon which I didn't eat!! Took one bite of the burger and told my wife I was done! The trainee will make a good server but the young that was training her needs to be retrained herself and not allowed to train anyone else! This was a horrible experience this...
Read moreThe service was horrible! Two tables that were seated after my grandfather and I were ordering their food but no one had acknowledged us. I had to ask the host, as he walked by, if we could at least have some water. He apologized that no one had taken our drink order. As he walked away, another employee asked what he was doing and when he explained that girl told him not to do that again. It took a long time for my grandfather to get his martini. When the waiter brought the drink, he took off. We waited about 10 minutes before he came back to ask if we were ready to order. During that 10 minute wait, the waiter walked past the table my grandfather asked if we could get a few napkins, he said nothing. Walked away, came back with a stack of napkins, dropped them in the menu that my grandfather was currently holding and viewing and said “here! Is that enough for you my brother?”
You do not drop them in the menu that a customer had in their hands. You put them in the side.
I ordered the spinach dip. He asked which spinach dip. The one in the 2 for 2 or the regular one? When I asked the difference. He said if we wanted the deal (2 for 2) we would have to order our entrees at the same time. At this time, we did not know what we wanted but we knew we wanted an appetizer and, to my knowledge, appetizers are ordered first. 20 minutes latee, the waiter came back for our order. My grandfather asked if we were going to be getting the appetizer soon because we wanted it before our food arrived. Very sarcastically, the waiter said, “I don’t control when the food comes out! I put the order in and it comes out when the kitchen puts it out!” My grandfather again tried to explain his concern that he doesn’t want to entrees to come out at the same time as the appetizer. The waiter said, and I will quote “My brother, I just put the order in. What more do you want me to do?” First, my 92 year old grandfather deserves to be heard and respected. You do not address him as your “brother” Second, listen to his, the customers concern and inquire the status of the appetizer.
I have been to many Applebee’s from coast to coast and have never been treated so poorly.
Hands down, this was one of the worst dinning experiences that I have endured.
If I were not with my 92 year old grandfather things would have went a very...
Read moreGee I don’t know where to begin? Walked in and the hostess looked at everything but us, without a word of greeting or even an acknowledgment. After a few minutes she grabs 2 menus, glances at us and walks. We assumed correctly we were to follow her. The floor was sticky, like they had just moved whatever the stuff on the floor was, around w/ an old mop. She drops the menus on a wobbly table, also sticky and walks away. A blonde waitress walks up and we asked to sit at a table our food won’t side off of…she moves us across the aisle. I asked for a draft beer they were out of. After 15 minutes or so, she took our order. I got Cajun shrimp & chicken, which the waitress called “excellent” and my wife ordered fish & chips. When the food arrived we weren’t given silverware. She went and came back several minutes later with 2 steak knives and one fork, and ran off. We just sat for a minute wondering why? The server walked by and I stopped her to ask for another fork. She said, “oh yeah, we’re out of forks.” I said, WHAT? I never heard of that in my life! Seems they hadn’t washed any yet! We waited another 5 minutes and she comes back asking “how the meal was?” I said I’ll let you know when I get a fork! Another server over heard and was gaped mouth, saying “you don’t have a fork?!” We finally get the fork and start eating. Our server comes back asking if we want desert, and if we want anything else? We hadn’t eaten half our food and the check was on the table! As for the food… subpar. The Cajun shrimp was tasty but had 3 slivers of mushroom, and the onions were hiding under the chicken. The cold slaw was the best part of it. My wife’s fish was over-fried on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Again her slaw was good and the waffle chips ok. Don’t know what’s going on at Applebee’s but Sunday night, it seems, isn’t the night to get good service or good food. I went on a Friday a month or so ago and the fish & chips were great, service was too….and they had the tap beer I like. My suggest is, if things don’t start right…and that’s anywhere….they usually...
