Chickasaw location just in case that doesnât come up.
Iâve never been to any Don Julioâs, I was craving tacos and it was recommended by a friend. Let me start with the âbadâ stuffâŚitâs taco Tuesday and I didnât realize so I was super excited. I got 2 birria, 2 Cameron (shrimp) and 2 carne asada (steak) tacos because my eyes are bigger than my stomach. My food was sooooo bland đŁ I ate one of each hoping the flavor would get betterâŚbut literally, it all tasted the sameâŚNO FLAVOR. But donât get me wrong! It wasnât horrible. Just didnât taste like authentic Mexican like I had been craving and expected (but not from a chain).
Thatâs neither here nor there and doesnât make a dent in this review.
I WILL BE BACK! Even as I walked in I ran into friendly patrons. The atmosphere, decor and music was great. I was immediately sat where I asked, I was brought out my chips and salsa and my server walked right up and introduced herself. ERIKA K. Is an amazing server! Sheâs very intuitive and knowledgeable. She took other tables, cleared and set other tables but also answered my questions, gave recommendations, was patient, friendly and just exhibited exactly what customer service should be. Iâm HUGE in customer service and Iâm glad that she was able to make up the sun of my experience. Oh I also got the candy shot which is some sort of watermelon liquor which was super sweet but had a tajin salt rim and was AMAZING! I also got my free shot and a skinny margarita which Iâll get with the tajin salt...

Read moreSo weâve been coming here for years, back before they began expanding into different locations. One thing I will say is there arenât many places in Florida that compare to Mexican Restaurants in Texas, but this is one of the very few in Orlando that we do like. That being said, since theyâve been growing, weâve also noticed theyâve been increasing prices as well, and recently so much that most menu items are around double what they cost around a year ago. This is shocking to us as it far exceeds what we feel is reasonable. Because of this, we werenât surprised that for the first time ever, the restaurant wasnât packed for dinner time on a Saturday. In fact it was about half full. As a family, we also have to take costs into consideration, and when our bill came out to double what it usually is, we decided we probably wonât come here anymore due to the very high prices they now have. That being said, our food as usual was awesome, and weâve got no complaints there. The staff werenât as responsive as they usually are, which was also odd since they werenât all that busy. One side effect of not being so busy like they used to be is that finding a parking spot was way easier than it used to be. So Don Julio, thanks for all the memories, and thanks for all the great food weâve enjoyed over the many years, we will miss your restaurant, but we just canât anymore for the current prices...
