I recently had the pleasure of dining at IHOP and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and promptly seated. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed breakfast or brunch.
Now, let's talk about the food. My 10 year old Grandson decided to try the strawberry banana pancakes with whipped cream and he said they were perfect! The pancakes were light and fluffy, with just the right amount of sweetness. The combination of fresh strawberries, ripe bananas, and a generous dollop of whipped cream took the flavor to a whole new level. It was like having a dessert for breakfast!
My eight year old Granddaughter wanted the chocolate chip pancakes, and they did not disappoint. Each bite was filled with rich, gooey chocolate chips. She said it was scrumptious!
For something a bit lighter, I opted for the pesto veggie egg white omelette. I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and satisfying it was. The egg whites were fluffy and perfectly cooked, and the pesto added a delightful herbaceous twist. The omelette was packed with a colorful medley of fresh vegetables and then topped with avocado slices, making it a healthy and delicious choice.
One thing that truly stood out during my visit was the excellent service. The staff at IHOP were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that I had a wonderful dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided great recommendations. The service was efficient, and our food arrived promptly.
What I appreciated most about IHOP is that it's a family-friendly establishment. As a Grandparent, it's always a relief to find a restaurant that caters to the needs of children. The menu had a variety of options for kids, and the staff was accommodating and patient with my Grands. They even provided crayons and coloring sheets to keep my child entertained while we waited for our food.
Overall, my experience at IHOP was fantastic. The strawberry banana pancakes with whipped cream and chocolate chip pancakes were absolutely scrumptious, the pesto veggie egg white omelette was a healthy delight, and the service was top-notch. It's a restaurant where both adults and children can enjoy a delicious meal in a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend IHOP to anyone looking for a delightful breakfast or...
Read moreToday I wanted to treat my mom to lunch so we decided to go to iHop. She was so excited to order the T-Bone Steak because in the past, at another location, she had ordered it and loved it!!
First, our server Jade (who is also a POC) acted as if she didn’t want to serve us, but we attempted to make a connection with her by telling her that we could never forget her name since my younger sister’s name is also Jade. That didn’t work. She failed to ask us several key things when taking an order, such as how my mom wanted her steak and eggs and if we needed any sugar/cream for our coffee. Whenever she brought us our food and drinks, she would just slide the items on the table silently and walk off.
After informing her that my mom would like the steak cooked medium, we received a steak that was nearly paper thin and cooked well done. My mom was unable to chew the steak so I explained that to Jade and asked if we could remove the steak altogether and she just stared at us looking dumbfounded. No apology, no offer to make it right. She walked away, pointed us out to another lady who I believe may have been a supervisor (that failed to introduce herself). The supervisor advised that she had taken off the steak. Great. I informed her that Jade’s service had been less than satisfactory and that maybe she needed a little more training. The supervisor justified her actions by stating, “Well she’s transitioning from a cook to a server.” Customer service should be taught and given from the dishwasher on up, so that’s not an excuse.
Meanwhile, an older Caucasian came in and was seated at one of Jade’s tables and her entire demeanor and personality was different. I am so disappointed! Here I am thinking that she was simply not skilled in that area, but after seeing that I strongly feel as though she stereotyped my mom and I as people who wouldn’t tip, so she didn’t feel the need to provide her best service. That is unacceptable. We actually love to tip, but she created her own fate by not doing her job and treating EVERY customer with dignity...
Read moreWe had a new server, so we were prepared to cut him some slack. First sign of trouble was when he returned to the table to ask what we had ordered because he couldn't read his own handwriting.
We waited a long time for our 3 breakfasts...which was fine because they were busy. Our server and one other person brought out our plates and we waited for them to bring the rest...soon we gave up waiting and just ate what they brought us, even though all three meals were wrong.
When our server finally came back to the table, we tried to tell him what was incorrect and missing from our order, but he did not understand and just said to my son-in-law that he knew they messed up his waffle, so they took it off the bill.
My daughter told him that she never got her gluten-free pancakes OR the side of hollandaise sauce she ordered with her meal. He told her, "I don't know what holiday sauce is, so I didn't put it in." At that point we stopped trying to explain anything else to our server and my daughter went up to the register to get our ticket adjusted for the items we never received.
She didn't have any better luck there. When she told them that my son-in-law was supposed to get cheesecake waffles with his meal and he received a plain waffles, they just said, "it didn't have anything on it?" No, it was a plain waffle, not a cheesecake waffle. "But didn't it have butter on it?" Yes, but it was the wrong waffle. I guess she thought butter would make it a cheesecake waffle!??
And they took $1.00 off the bill for the upgrade of gluten free on my daughter's meal. But she didn't get ANY Pancakes with her meal!
And mine was supposed to be blueberry Pancakes with strawberry banana topping. They arrived with blueberry topping, which I don't like...and strawberry banana topping on the side. I needed butter to make it edible, but our server didn't come back to the table until we were finished.
We were very dissatisfied and we will not be returning...
