If I could give 0 stars I would, but I can't. We actually had not been here since our anniversary last April and that was actually not good either, but we thought we'd give it a try. When we went last April, my husband ordered prime rib, which is understandable to have it somewhat fatty, since it's prime rib, but more than half of it was fat. They took that off our ticket, and were nice about it, but it was not good. Last night (August 20, 2023), we decided to go again and give it a chance. We ordered the blooming onion which was so overfried and unbelievable terrible. It was absolutely disgusting with WAY TOO MUCH salt. I ordered a PECAN wedge salad with blue cheese. Not one pecan or piece of blue cheese. Pretty much a wedge of lettuce. My husband ordered a 8 oz filet medium rare. It was so rare it was raw. She took his food, brought it back to the kitchen and came back with his potato and shrimp that was supposed to be loaded, but he ended up using the butter for the bread because it had nothing on it. The filet never came back and when she walked by after he was done eating around 10 minutes later, my husband told her to forget it because who eats a piece of meat by itself? Instead of removing it from our ticket, they charged $21 instead of $31 .... nothing like adding insult to injury. I ordered a chicken/steak combo thing that was new on the menu and it was $25. I could not eat the chicken. It was the same burnt SALTY blooming onion seasoning we just had and I could not eat it and the chicken was so gristly instead of being tender. The worse piece of chicken I think I have ever gotten in my life. My steak was raw too, so I ate four or five bites around the edges where it wasn't raw, and took it to go and gave it to the dog next door. Just so you know, the dog wouldn't even eat the chicken, it was that bad. Needless to say our ticket was $73, plus a tip she really didn't deserve because she could have cared less. Don't bother going there. Trust me, just go to Colton's and save your money. At least their food is still good. I WILL NEVER EVER go there again. Now, you can go to the one in Hot Springs. They have a good cook and good servers there and it is very clean, but the food, cook and servers in Conway needs help really bad!! Terrible. Biggest ripoff ever. We actually left and went to Freddie's Burgers and got something to go. At least we could eat that. Most expensive lesson to learn to never go to the Outback in...
Read moreIt's always tough to write reviews that are both true, as well as fair. Meaning, I believe most restaurants today have just average food. We'll, corporate/chain restaurants anyway. There are local places that are amazing, and . . . not so much. But, these national, and many are international, places have fed us on consistency. If I eat at an Outback in Texas, then Ohio, then New Mexico, I'm fairly confident the food is going to taste very similar. Therefore, as customers, are expectations will have been met. Which is the classic definition for 'customer service.' But aren't there times when we would really like our expectations to be exceeded? This is my struggle with leaving reviews for chain restaurants; what surprised you? So, what can be said about my expectations for Outback Steakhouse in Conway Arkansas? The food was as I expected. I know what my chicken and ribs will taste like when I order. And they did. And rather than boring you with our usual expectations, because we already have a set of them, I'll tell you what stood out and what may be important to some. To me, the most important thing is service. Because bad service can make good food taste bad. Inversely, when food is just OK, awesome service means the food will taste better. The service at Outback Steakhouse Conway was exceptionally good. I was quite surprised, honestly, with my treatment from the staff. Definitely worth a 5-star rating. My food was still warm when I received it. That may seem odd to mention, however, and unfortunately, it was worth noting. Lastly, I had an insignificant issue that really needed no address from management, nonetheless, the manager did reach out to me. What's more, my impression was he/she actually cares about my concern. We all know the patronizing responses you can get from places. It's that generic reply that could work for anything - 'We're sorry to hear ... we'll make evey effort ... here's a coupon now shut up.' Seriously. The response I received from management at Outback gave me the impression they took a few minutes to personalize their response to my concern.
Overall, and probably how most reviews should go, would I recommend Outback Steakhouse in Conway Arkansas to friends and family? . . . Umm, yes! There are more bad restaurants in Conway than there are good restaurants. So yeah, when my dad comes in from out of town I would have no issues whatsoever taking...
Read moreI would like to start off by saying, our server (s) we’re spectacular and try so hard to rectify the endless parade of kitchen and bar mistakes and we super appreciated them and their efforts. The host(s) we’re also super fun and accommodating to us and we appreciated the hell out of them.
Now; for the bad. We went to outback on Saturday March 4th after a long drive from Hot Springs and a day in the son at Viking Festival. We arrived and was happily greeted by hosts and sat down and greeted by our wait staff within seconds. We ordered our drinks and on it went. It took us 20 minutes to get our bread, it took almost 20 to even get the coke products for the kiddos, we had received our bar drinks prior to the kids receiving theirs. My husband ordered a Jameson and coke that tasted a little off, it honestly tasted like Jack but it could have been watered down creating a different flavor profile. We informed our server and she took it back to the bar and requested a remake.
The bartender then came to our table acting a certain kind of way where she looked at my husband and said “I personally made this so I know for a fact it is Jameson, but, since it doesn’t taste right I’ll make you something else.” Like no, just remake the drink, and she just kept going so my husband finally said ok whatever I’ll drink it. Then; our food took 45 minutes to come out, none of the appetizers came out and we still hadn’t gotten our salads or soups. My steak was over cooked but was edible, my husbands was burnt and crispy so we requested a refire. His newly cooked steak took another 20 minutes, which made no sense. We were very disappointed at our interaction and after all the things never once did a manager stop by and see if there was anything they could do to help.
Our waitress tried to rectify by giving us a break on the bill, which, was denied by the manager. We spent 170.00 before tip and had the worst meal ever from this franchise, I’m not sure if we will ever return. We as a family have never had so many issues in one sitting, I’m not sure what was going on that night and I can make a lot of excuses for people, but...
