Wow. Just wow. Where do I begin? I guess I could take this all back to the first time I ever tasted kid cuisine. The torched brownie that was so hard that you could use it for a hockey puck... the food so squishy that it disintegrates at the touch of a fork.... And I think it was kind of reminiscent of the experience here. As I walked in, I felt the soullessness of the establishment gnaw at my very being, and I was told, while 3 managers sit at the host booth, that To Go orders are rung up at the bar. Great. I give them my name, and they let me know it will be 40$, not too terribly outside the range of some good Italian food, but it's gotta be good.
I get my white bag, trudge back to whence I came, and start to divide up the food. It was strikingly similar to kid cuisine, the black plates sheltering the quite obviously nuked pasta and meat sauce, and on the side, a lonely piece of chicken, with a mushroom placed squarely on the top. The breading exposed gave immediate notice to the fac that it was frozen, with its orangey, spongey texture. The fettucine con pollo exuded a pool of bile-yellow grease, similar to what was on our 4$ "bread stick" grease bites, that I intentionally ordered extra crispy after seeing white dough balls being posted by others... big mistake as I received a white rock covered in garlic oil. The salads were bland, oil and vinegar mixture tasteless, and the Caesar salad had multiple butts of romaine heads inside the meal. Not exactly what I think of when I think "$$ 4+ star google rated restaurant"
This is all to say that I never return food. My girlfriend and I, in the 2+ years we have spent together, have never BOTH fully rejected our meal and had the gall to take it back to the owners. I'm glad I did. I walk in after calling to express my dissatisfaction, and am met with some weary expressions from management, almost flabbergasted that someone didn't enjoy their "fine cuisine". I told them I did not wish to be harsh or anything, but that the fettucine and meat sauce tasted like dish water, watered down, the issues with the Fettucine con pollo being a congealed mess as listed above, not to mention the ridiculous portion sizes of a side of pasta on a 15$ dish hardly being more than a few spoonfuls - at which point I explain I'd like a full refund. The manager starts looking through the food, and decided to not comp the chicken Parm as I'd "eaten half of it" when I have pictures of before and after showing I ate at most a third - God forbid I try the meal I paid 40$ for? I shared a small piece with my significant other too, just so I could know I wasn't going crazy at the thought of being fed frozen chicken for 14.95
This restaurant is a shame, and had an opportunity to make things right, and instead made a fool of themselves. As I work relatively close down the road, I was hoping to have a nice Italian spot I could go for dates, enjoy the bar, experience, etc, but in the end I was let down in every way possible other than the server taking orders over the phone. Someone please save her. Everyone who works there looks absolutely miserable.
Thanks for nothing, we won't be back. When I asked why I would not be comped for the Parm, and it was explained that I ate "half" of the sole piece of chicken available on the dish (that's right, for 14.95 you can get ONE frozen chicken patty), I told him that I would just go ahead and file a charge back, at which point he says "I don't care what you choose to do with your bank".
As an owner, or manager you could have owned up to the poor food quality and offered something that may save the opportunity for us to do business in the future. Instead, you metaphorically spat in our faces and made us believe the problem was with our taste buds. I'm sure I'm not the only customer that feels this way - but I believe I will be the first to say that those in charge, for the most part, should be ashamed of the establishment they're running into the ground.
if the fork can lay on the chicken, how did I eat half?

Read moreWell my husband and myself and a good friend of ours got there about 5:00 we'd never eaten there before but we wanted some authentic Italian food there was a couple across from us it was his wife's birthday so they were enjoying their meal we asked them about the food before we had ordered. They said oh it's good we've eaten here numerous times and then he and my husband engaged in a conversation about our hometown which is Kansas City where the Italian food is authentic and excellent. The waitress came to the table she was quite polite she was very on top of her service but the food was horrific I will never eat there again .My husband and I spent $64 on some food that I couldn't even tell what it was. So I ordered a trio and it was supposed to be lasagna, ravioli and one other item. I can't even remember it was so bad and my husband ordered just a half of order of lasagna .we don't often eat pasta that much anymore but he had a taste for it and we wanted some authentic and we didn't want to go to the chain Olive garden where we know nothing is cooked fresh and everything is kept up under a light. So we decided we would get something authentic so we thought. I ordered a glass of wine it was called peachy peach Moscato by Costello. That glass half a glass of wine was $13.99 I liked it so well I asked the waitress what was the name she provided it. when I left there that night we stopped at our local liquor store and bought some it was $10.99 a bottle it was Moscato didn't have a cork in it so we paid more for a half a glass that I could have got a whole bottle for $10.99. The trio that I ordered was $23 My husband ordered a half order of lasagna $15 and it came in a small bowl that you would serve dip in. I had some fazoli soup and he had a house salad. The salad had way too much dressing on it The trio I couldn't even tell what it was because it was so much cheese clumped on it. All three were ran together with a big clump of cheese on top of it so I couldn't even tell what was what. it wasn't warm as if it just been sitting up under a heat lamp. The food was worse than Olive garden. The bread she brought out was hard and had so much garlic on it we had to scrape it off My girlfriend ordered the shrimp and lobster pasta she had to ask the young lady where the lobster was. The young lady said oh it's chopped up in the pasta . She didn't eat hers either we just asked for boxes and took all that crap out the door and threw it out the door when we left . We didn't call the manager to the table because it was very tight fit six tables in one section and they had people at those tables so you couldn't have a private conversation about your meal at all and we didn't want to ruin anyone else's experience our pallets weren't satisfied, but perhaps there's was so we just threw it out. My husband and I got our bill oh and we ordered the three cannolis for dessert it was three mini cannolis for $7 we also paid for the couples dessert across from us because it was his wife's birthday and they were such a nice couple. Those cannolis were tiny and they were very hard we couldn't even eat them we spent $64 that's less the tip . Tip included we spend $75 for two people which wouldn't have been a bad price had we had an enjoyable experience and the food been superbit. But it was a mere family restaurant with substandard food it was an awful experience. I will never go back and I can't believe the food was the price that it was and it looked the way it looked for $75 his food my food one glass of wine he didn't even have anything to drink with water and some cannolis $75 of course that was tip included the meal was actually $64.18 but we didn't want to penalize the waitress she was a good waitress not a...
Read moreEverything about my visit was overwhelmingly meh. Now we went on a Wednesday night so maybe they were off. But this is like getting blown out by 40+ points off. I’ll start with, what you can call, the good.
The staff was friendly, seated us immediately, & provided good service throughout our visit. The decor is that of an old school Italian restaurant with a warm feel. That’s as far as the good extends. Now for the actual food review.
My family started with their mozzarella sticks, which weren’t bad, but not impressive either. I had an Arnold Palmer (half sweet tea/half lemonade) & it was barely sweet, if you can call it that. My wife & daughter had water so it isn’t much to review there. My wife got the veal served with a spaghetti, I got the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken & broccoli, my daughter had the children’s fettuccini Alfredo. My wife’s veal looked as though it had been covered in an egg bath, no breading, & fried. She didn’t care for the flavor nor the spaghetti. My daughter is only three, so she was just excited for noodles. But the best comparison for my fettuccini dish would be canned chicken noddle soup. Not the good stuff, just Campbell’s chicken noodle soup. The sauce was runny & bland, the broccoli wasn’t cooked soft enough (to me), & the chicken lacked any flavor; even that you typically get from just cooking it in a pan. I sat there trying to make if tolerable by putting salt, pepper, & Parmesan cheese on it; but there was no saving that meal. It was our first time & likely our last. They usually have a pretty good crowd so we hadn’t been there until tonight, even though we’ve lived here for years. We got the feeling they appeal to an older crowd with dietary restrictions. Take this with a grain of salt but be...
