So let's see, we came to eat dinner, the website indicated they served fish and chips and Reubens and we were looking forward to it. We walked and all the empty tables were dirty, but there was only two waitresses so we sat down and pushed all the empty bottles and plates to the far side of the table. Ten minutes later, no one had acknowledged us, or cleared the table, even though both waitresses had walked by our table several times. Well, one of them got half the stuff off the table but left the other half and no wipe down. Fifteen minutes after arriving, I go to the bathroom. On my way back, I stopped by the bar to get us something to drink and go back to the table. We finish our drinks and still no one has said hi or offered us a menu. I walked up to the bar, paid our table and left. NEVER to return.
Three years later, we did return after all and we're pleased with the change. The staff were attentive and helpful. I had the Fish and Chips (they were out of the Bangers and Mash) and my wife had the Cowboy Brisket sandwich and both were delicious. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable. They had some of the best Guinness I've had since coming home from Ireland (and yes there is a huge difference between Guinness there and here.)
Glad we gave them a second chance. This time we are determined to to return... I want to try...
Read moreMy fiancé and I visited this establishment on Friday. We sat outside at an empty table where there were other tables. All the tables were filled and we noticed one waitress handling all of the tables. We sat there patiently and the waitress never came over. My fiancée raised his hands at least three times to get her attention but she looked in our direction, looked dead in our eyes and continued to ignore us. After sitting for at least 20 mins we realized (a black couple by the way) that we were purposely not being served. All the other tables we filled with caucasian people and she was running back and forth greeting and taking their orders and bringing food and drinks. I thought for sure that my eyes were deceiving me, so we waited and another caucasian couple walked up and sat down and to our disbelief she went directly over to serve them. My fiancée and I ended up leaving. It really is a shame that we are still living in times where this kind of ignorance still lives. I wanted to approach the women or even to say something to the owner but my fiancée said that it was not worth the wasted words.
To the woman that waited tables outside this establishment on Friday June 9th…… There is a lot that I could say and could’ve said to you but you aren’t worth it……I feel...
Read moreI recommend trying the Celtic Tavern Irish Pub... Whenever you're near Conyers Georgia. The fish and chips were delicious. The dish came with one a 4 ounce cod fish filet with huge mounds of fries two hush puppies and coleslaw. I foregone the fries and hush puppies and ordered a side of grilled fresh vegetables ( carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower). The fish was golden brown breaded, flaky white meat, and perfectly cooked. I added malt vinegar because that is the way you experience fish and chips. The grilled vegetables had a slight grilled touch with proper seasoning - not too much so that the crisp of the vegetable bite and flavor came through. My daughter had the fish and chips also so I stole one French fry and the coleslaw. The fry was golden brown and crisp, seasoned perfectly, but a little very little dry. Probably dipped in ketchup it was perfect. The coleslaw was plain white cabbage with little dressing and little seasoning. For me I added a few drops of malt vinegar to jack it up a notch. The music was playing a little loud for casual conversations and I could have asked to turn it down. The decor is very Celtic Tavern pub. The bathroom was clean and supplied well and only accommodates one person at a time. The service was perfect. Way...
